Before and after cruise

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: It was clean and the rooms were nice. The first night was discounted because we had been given incorrect information when we had called prior to our
Cons: Less construction noise! They might need to close in order to complete their construction without disturbing guests.
Location: Not much to do near the hotel during the week in September.
Our stay before the cruise was uneventful. We used the shuttle to the cruise ship and this process was well organized and we were very satisfied with the ability to park our vehicle at the hotel while we were gone for our cruise. We checked in after our cruise and couldn't have been more disappointed. We checked in before lunch and we were told that our room would be ready after about 2:00 pm. We arrived back at the hotel around 2:00 to find that our room was indeed ready. We settled into our very nicely appointed, well cleaned, room and decided to take a nap. We were a little tired from the cruise. Our nap was quickly interrupted by a sawing and hammering noise directly above our room. We tried to ignore it but it continued for over an hour. We called the front desk and they quickly agreed to change our room. We moved to the next room to find there was only one bed, since our son was with us we needed another bed. We called and were again accommodated quickly with another room. We tried to get settled but within a matter of minutes the sawing began again. We went to the front desk and heard a hotel representative tell someone on the phone that the website clearly states that they are having work done at the hotel. I booked through Expedia so I was unaware of the construction. We were told that the construction would begin again at 6:00 am so we checked out and went home. We weren't charged, but we didn't spend the night either.

ok. nothing special considering the price

Pros: location
Cons: All areas of staff...just cold and rude overall.
Location: on beach close to good restaurants...outside of Hotel.
Staff was unfriendly and housekeeping was actually RUDE. Wait staff for breakfast buffet was insufficient and the overpriced buffet was COLD and a fair amount of the food choices were gone. Stuck with COLD food. Waitress was slow to help and refill coffee. Poor service all around.

Great hotel

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: The staff, food, & bar were the best of any Hilton I've stayed in.
Location: The beach, great restraunts, and lots of shopping.
We only stayed one night before our cruise, but from the time we got out of our car the staff was great. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel bar was enjoyable. If we'd have had more time we would have loved the large resort style pool.

Nice staff, great location same parking lot as the rainforest cafe! Too bad Labor Day weekend they had a malfunction with the fire alarm and it went off 3x disrupting my sleep. The next morning I observed them fixing it. I would stay again!

Great Location

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Great location and the pool stayed open late (11 pm) and was fairly large and very nice.
Cons: The hotel's alarm system.
Location: Check out Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. La King's Confectionery for dessert and coffee.
This hotel was right across from the beach. The location is perfect. We didn't visit the pool, but it looked very nice with a swim up bar. The staff was friendly when checking in. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable; however, the bathroom could use some updating. Our ONLY complain is that they were having issues with their alarms and they went off multiple times in the night, waking us up several times between 3:00 am-9:00 am. When the alarm went off the third time, around 3:30 am, I placed a call to the front desk to see what was going on. The staff was polite, but did not offer any apologies or anything for the inconvenience. Overall, I would probably recommend this hotel to a friend, and would stay here again, if I was reassured that there would be no issues with the alarm system.
