Great location

Posted Apr 15, 2014
This hotel is walking distance from the best fishing pier! My family and I loved our trip :). Close to moody gardens, and shopping. The only downfall i seen with the hotel is that the pool was cold. I went in April so it was mid to high 70s and sunny all week but the pool was to cold for my girls :/.

This was my birthday weekend

Posted Mar 24, 2014
I made it late to my hotel but I was very disappointed. When I originally booked my room the person I booked with told me they had 24 hour room service. Lol no not at all. She told me a lot of non sense thats wasn't available to me at all. But at the end of the day its an ok hotel. Just not what I wanted for my birthday.

Holiday Inn Express on Galveston Island

Posted Mar 14, 2014
Pros: The physical facilities were nice.
Cons: Limit the number of blacks that stay there or at least control their behavior better. They were barbaric and quite unpleasant.
Location: Galveston Island, TX. = Rainforest Cafe, Seawall, The Strand, Moody Gardens Aquarium and Rainforest pyramids, Schlitterbahn Water Park, Bay tours, etc
The hotel was overrun with loud, obnoxious, black kids. They ran down the halls at all hours of the night, slammed doors, shouted in their very distinct ghetto dialect, and made the stay unpleasant. This is probably a function of price. Holiday Inn Express is inexpensive and therefore attracts the lower classes. My mistake for staying there. Otherwise, the facility itself was quite nice for the low price.

VERY pleased

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: Area of Galveston that you stay in can determine whether or not it is a pleasant stay. This hotel is in a good location, by a quiet area of the beach
Cons: breakfast was mediocre, with not many options.
Location: Beach
Great customer service, very clean, wonderful experience. We have two small children and the two queen bed suite was perfect. Loved being able to see the ocean from our room.

Right on the seawall, great ocean view

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: See above - great customer service, very professional employees.
Cons: See above - Sleeper Sofa
Location: We ate at several restaurants nearby - Rainforest, Cafe Michael, Fishermans Wharf. Also Mini Golf, Movie Theater, shell shops, Moody Gardens, etc.
We spent a long weekend at this hotel with 2 adults + 3 kids. Our suite room was just right for our family. Hotel staff very professional and efficient - fixed key card problem immediately, opened the breakfast room for me and my older kids while the youngest was napping so we could chill for an hour. Breakfast was great every morning, hotel was quiet - we rarely heard another guest. Location was great - very close to Moody Gardens, great restaurants, etc. There is even a movie theater and mini golf within walking distance. Negatives: There were ashes on the comforter by the window when we arrived, even though the room was "non-smoking." Mattress on sleeper couch was very thin and uncomfortable for my 10 year old. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. We had a great trip!

Friendly help

Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Loved being so close to the seawall, able to take a stroll and enjoy the view while hearing the waves crash, was very romantic.
Cons: The breakfast was not all that appetizing though they did try to have a variety of options for guests.
Staff was very accomadating to our needs and request. They were friendly and easy going, we needed a room change and with no hesitation the front desk staff helped to make that happen. The original room was fine just needed more room last minute.
