“Affordable and Amazing”
This is a very nice hotel, and the price is surprisingly reasonable. The decor in the lobby is particularly impressive. The restaraurant downstairs has a delicious breakfast menu, though the best items are in the $15.00 range.
“Elegance on the Beach”
Nice historical hotel with modern conveniences. Enjoyed location. Elegantly decorated for Christmas. I will stay there again when I visit.
“Fantastic getaway!”
Gave myself a little holiday getaway for Christmas this year. Booked an oceanfront room and a morning in the spa. When I checked in they gave me a free upgrade, which was nice. After I was settled, I got a call to see if everything was okay. I reported the fridge didn't seem too cold and they immediately sent someone up with a replacement. Had a drink in the bar and dinner in the restaurant the first night. Spent 3 hours in the spa the next morning. Every staff person with whom I came into contact was friendly, polite and made me feel like they were glad I was there. No complaints - I think I've found my new Christmas "tradition"!
“Weekend Retreat”
It was wonderful!! We did not want to leave and plan on going back next month and thereafter. The atmosphere was very conducive to relaxation.
“Great Stay!”
Very beautiful hotel, I loved the stay! I only wish that I had the oceanview that I paid extra for. The room was beautiful!
“Love it!”
My husband and I LOVE the Hotel Galvez. It is a truly beautiful hotel. Our room was immaculate. Yes, the rooms are smaller than new hotel rooms, but they don't have the history of this place. Unfortunately, the beach smelled awful from the seaweed but this was no problem as the pool at Hotel Galvez is gorgeous. Poolside service was great; Tatiana took great care of us. They passed out popcicles twice while we were there. My husband and I live in Houston and Hotel Galvez is our first choice for a getaway weekend to Galveston.
“Old World Charm with Modern Amenities”
The Galvez is an older hotel, that has been modernized while still retaining it's old hotel architecture and charm. Our 6th floor room, although small (it is an old hotel built in 1911#, was very comfotrable, had a large screen TV mounted to the wall, high ceilings, new fixtures, and a huge shower that featured a rain shower head along with the normal type hand held shower head mounted to an adjustable height sliding braket. Pool #salt water I think?# with swim up bar was nice and was large #wraps around the hotel). Food was excellent in the hotel, and they served Starbucks coffee. My only complaint was the elevators were a little slow, which was no big deal.
“Wonderful hotel and experience!”
Great hotel! Great service! Food in restaurant delicious. Great vacation!
“All The website states it to be!”
The "curb appeal" as you drive in gives you a feeling of total beauty and relaxation. This feeling materializes further as the friendly valet service personnel welcome you and assist you. Everything about the hotel is first class! We gave the comfort of the room a 4 rather than a 5 only because it was a bit small. Of course, with a kingsize bed in our room, this was probably was the cause.
“Christmas at the Hotel Galvez”
The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the Christmas brunch was excellent! Our only problem was that we ate too much, but we really can't blame the hotel for that.
