Classic Old ElegancePosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Being treated like royalty................
Cons: Perhaps dating the dining room.....Could be cozier..
Location: Went downtown and enjoyed walking around.......
Spent the night before leaving on a cruise......Sat at the lobby bar and enjoyed a lovely gentleman playing mostly old standards at a piano.....Very relaxing.....The hotel has old world charm and such a warm feeling.......The dining room is oddly very modern looking,

Great location, A older hotel!!Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: The location ,a great stay before a cruise, park your car in a enclosed parking garage. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating.
Cons: A larger room!!
Location: The location was great, a lot of good rest. Hotel across from the beach!!
We enjoyed the hotel, very classy, had a corner room facing the water, but very small rooms, saw one facing the city and again so very small. 2 nights was enough . Had to get out of the room!! Great location to rest. and across from the beach .Nice pool area!!

Disappointed with my stayPosted Dec 6, 2014
Pros: Nice location on the Sea Wall.
Cons: Upgrade the rooms. They are old and outdated.
Location: Good location
We were disappointed with how old the hotel rooms were. They need to be updated. We were wishing for more of a upper class hotel like the San Luis. We will just go back to the San Luis in the future.

Hotel is nice and cleanPosted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Location near everything.
Cons: Communication between the hotel staff. i.e. the mixup over the room assignment.
Location: Location had view of the Gulf a nd was close to major restaurants as well as to the Strand.
We stayed to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and I called the hotel to see if they could provide something special to surprise my wife. Upon check-out, the person at the counter asked how we liked the special ammenities that she had asked to be provided (a piece of cake on a platter with Happy Anniversary written on it). When I told her that we did not receive anything, she looked very surprised and checked the computer and we had been put in room 330 while she had planned for us to be in room 430. She said the mistake was probably caused by our call to request an early check-in time.

very old, but still goodPosted Nov 29, 2014
I like how it's close to the beach so I can walk there whenever I want, the people are very nice, and the facilities are very clean, I liked the large pool. The room is okay but it is pretty old.

God, I love this place!Posted Nov 28, 2014
The Galvez Hotel was wonderful. It made our Thanksgiving a beautiful memory. The Thanksgiving buffet was superb and our waiter went out of his way to make sure we were treated like royalty. The service was always above and beyond expectations. We loved the well maintained grounds and hotel structure. The ocean view rooms were comfortable. The history behind the Galvez was interesting to learn. Thank you, Galvez.

Great location and amenities!Posted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: The charm of the hotel and the friendliness/helpfulness of the staff helped to make our stay wonderful.
Cons: There is nothing I would change.
Location: The gulf is across the street, local eateries and shops, and a pier with rides are within a couple blocks.
The location of the hotel was excellent-across from the beach, and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel itself had charm and character. It was well staffed, clean, and relaxing, with many amenities including a restaurant, lounge, pool and spa. I would stay in this hotel again, without a doubt!!!!
