Trash people were messing with garbage. Trucks kept backing up beeping and banging around early in morning.

Nice location - Terrible hotelPosted Feb 3, 2015
Cons: Room cleanness, comfort and customer service.
Location: lots of restaurants, Stewart Beach Park and CVS
We stayed in La quinta because it was in a great location, unfortunately that was about it, the room was filthy and smell like wet dog and something else (maybe dirty socks), at the end we could not take it and when when we express this to the person in the front desk she just check us out. we lost our money and we ended up at an other hotel.

On the beach / seawall and Dog FriendlyPosted Jan 6, 2015
Pros: Dog Friendly! Great location!
Cons: A few updates would help -- new mattresses and towels.
Location: Right on the seawall, so easy walk to the beach, the new boardwalk, and other hotels / restaurants.
For the price, this La Quinta is a decent place to stay. It is also truly dog friendly. Surprisingly, most hotels in Galveston are not. And this is why we chose this La Quinta. That's also probably why it was full. Book in advance if you want to travel with your pet! On the positive side, the hotel facilities were clean, location offers easy access to Seawall restaurants, and there is free continental breakfast and free wifi. We requested a downstairs room and got it, so we could park right by the door. All hotel staff was friendly -- front desk and housekeeping. Room included a coffee maker, and a mini-fridge -- that was a nice surprise. On the downside, the room was a little on the small side, but not surprising for resort cities. The mattresses were not comfortable at all (way too soft, probably due to high use and age), and the room had a musty odor when we walked in -- but an air freshener and air conditioning helped a bit. There are plenty of really good places to eat in Galveston at a reasonable price, so try and avoid the Denny's next door -- it was really dirty when we were there.

Close to beachPosted Jan 6, 2015
Hotel is close to the beach and to Dennys. Rooms are out dated beds very uncomfortable as we're the very small pillows. The shower curtain was to high water was all over the floor had to put a towel so the kids wouldn't fall. There was not enough electric outlets to charge our phones.

Clean comfortable room right across street from water . Located a mile and a half from the Strand or Criuse Terminal . There's a Denny's restaurant right beside hotel . I would stay here again .
