close to pleasure pier and stewart beach
Posted Jan 11, 2013
Pros: complimentary breakfast, quiet hotel and comfortable bed, super cold A/C
Cons: more towels in the restroom, and shampoo, conditioner wouldve been nice
Location: Pleasure Pier, Stewart Beach, and Dominoes Pizza
not as nice looking as other hotels on the outside but inside the room looked recently updated. conveniently located near pleasure pier and Stewart beach. The price is also what brought me to this hotel and i figured id be only sleeping here anyways. Breakfast was decent. Wasn't top notch but not the worst one.

La Quinta in Galveston
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: small swimming pool
Cons: room is small
Location: you can walk across the street to the eastern beach.
I took my family to Galveston beach for a weekend, and wanted to stay one night on eastern beach. We chose the La Quinta because of the good experience we had stayed in other locations before. Overall, La Quinta people and service is as good as in other places. However, we felt a bit disappointment there. it was expensive, $200 a night. in other places, we might just pay $50. And the hotel condition looks old and the room is smaller. But, it is in Galveston beach. every other hotel is also expensive and has tiny room. My 3 year old daughter had great fun in the weekend. That is most important to me.

so disappointed
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
Location: ok
for the money we spent for 2 nights was an insult!! for 39 more we could of gotten a beautiful suite at the Hampton Inn. I was so disappointed at the sight as we drove up.I did not feel safe, shady characters haning around.it is ok for a one night stand, not a family stay.

o.k.Hotel
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: Comfort of the room ,plus the breakfast.
Cons: Dogs allowed in breakfast area, my wife did not eat breakfast the moring of 6-2-2013...our day was ruined.
Location: o.k.
We had requested nonsmoking rooms, but was given one with strong smoke odor. They corrected the problem with another room. The parking was not so great. Our rooms were at the front but had to park in back. Other than that, it was not a bad location to stay.

Awesome experience

Very pleasant experience during our stay here. Highly recommend this hotel. While there are many hotels to choose from in Galveston, La Quinta is great for the amount of $ that you pay compared to higher priced hotels in the area.

Nice and close to the beach
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: Very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom is small. Rooms open to the outside - like a motel rather than a hotel.
Location: Right across the street from the beach. Good restaurants are nearby.
Overall, it was positive. We were surprised that all of the rooms open up to the outside. Some people were smoking outside of our room, but we didn't smell any smoke inside. Dogs are allowed and we could hear one dog barking for awhile. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good.

Perfect for what I wanted
Posted Jan 14, 2013
I wanted a motel with gulf view and with a pool. I could walk to Denny's for breakfast (I'm not a fan of high carb continental breakfasts). I botched up my reservation but staff straightened it out, even gave me choice of rooms. Nice place, nice location. I will go back soon.

Pros: Pet friendly
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great location
Very nice room at a great price. The staff was friendly and helpful and they are one of the few pet friendly hotels in Galveston.
