Great Hotel before a Cruise.

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: The roof top bar.
Cons: Not much they really have their act together.
Location: We choose this hotel because of it's location to the pier, since we were boarding the ship in the morning.
The Hotel is located two blocks from the Ship, easy access to the pier. The room is very nice and if you like an old hotel with modern upgrades, this one is for you. The roof top bar has a great view and everyone is so friendly.

Excellent place to stay close to the Strand.

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Liked the closeness to the Strand area of Galveston, with all the different places to visit and see. Enjoyed access to the Hotel Galvez pool and spa.
Location: Many historical places to see, and numerous restaurants abound nearby.
Stayed at this particular hotel to be near the cruise ship wedding of our daughter. really close to the older part of Galveston, TX. The staff were very professional and courteous, room was very clean and met our needs.

Easy to access all of the attractions.

Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: The close proximity to attractions
Cons: Remove offensive grafitti from wall.
Location: Walking distance from attractions. Pier 21 was fab. The boat tours are nice.
We stayed at this Historic hotel for three nights. The staff are friendly. There are quirky little shops and restaurants close by and it's easy to get to to all of the attractions from here. The only disappointment for us, was the view from the window to our room. We overlooked a wall presenting extremely offensive grafitti. We reported it and were informed that management were aware of the grafitti. but no actions to compensate us for this were offered. E.g removing the grafitti or changing our room.

Great location on the Strand

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Location was good Attractive room
Cons: Was given a room which I assume was handicapped accessible. It was a walk-in shower and water came out on the floor when used even w/shower curtain
Location: Shopping, dining, Grand 1894 Opera House
Very pleasant staff heavy feather and synthetic pillows, too high, cause neck pain. Otherwise comfy bed and room.

Great Hotel next to Port of Galveston

Posted Apr 4, 2015
Cons: Nothing.
We were looking for a nice hotel close to the Port. We flew in a day early on Friday for a Saturday cruise as we always do to make sure that we are there with no flight delays and are ready to board. This hotel definitely was a pleasure. It is in the historic district of Galveston and within a couple of blocks of the shopping in the district. The room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. It is an old building that has all the hisoric and period charm mixed with the modern amenities. The staff was great. On Saturday morning the port was closed due to fog so we had to wait for the ship to come in and unload which didnt happen until 2 in the afternoon. It was pouring down rain. The front desk staff got us a complimentary shuttle to take us and our luggage to the port. It was a great experiance and we can't wait to go back. Oh yes the bed at the Tremont House was more comfortable than the one on the boat.

LOVELY HOTEL, BUT A NOISY ROOM

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The position in the Downtown area was great, and although there was no pool, we used the facilities of the sister hotel Galvez which were excellent.
Location: The harbour, and The Strand, where most of the restaurants are, is only a few minutes walk away.
Everything was good, but I specifically asked for a quiet room. I was given 454, which was opposite the lift on the 4th floor, and was passed by patrons going to and from the roof terrace bar on the same floor. This bar is open Tuesday to Saturday until quite late. the visitors were loud and inconsiderate both coming and going. I arrived on a Friday and the noise was not too bad, but Saturday night was awful. I complained on Sunday morning, and the manager was very sorry, and offered an upgrade to another room. we were leaving on Monday, and as the bar was closed that night I declined, but asked for some compensation. I settled for a free lunch, and breakfast for the next morning.

Last Minute

Posted Mar 25, 2015
My business partner and myself had to come to Galveston for a very sudden funeral and I booked this hotel on our way, online. We got in around 1am and the reception was still very warm. The room was so nice and comfortable. I want to come back on a "pleasure" stay with my husband! Very nice place!
