"Loved staying at the Galvez!!"
We opted to stay at the Galvez instead of Moody Gardens, and we are so glad we did!! loved the older, rich history of this hotel. Loved being far from the madding crowds!!! loved the piano playing in the beautiful bar. Loved the deliciously fresh and yummy breakfast buffet! what can I say, I just loved it!! did not use, but hotel offers shuttle to the Strand, and use of bicycles. Great workout facility. wonderful pool.

"Great stay at a nice price"
We stayed one night at this hotel with our two young children during our stay in Galveston. It is a nice hotel but it sits behind another hotel so difficult to access. The pool needed cleaned of algae. The staff told me breakfast was 7:30-9:30 but when I arrived shortly after 7:30 the waffles were gone and never restocked. Breakfast had obviously started earlier than 7:30 and the waffles were pre-cooked for quicker service. The room was great short of nice towels. The beds are amazing compared to what you might expect from other Days Inns. Plenty of plugs and USB outlets above floor level. Hardwood floors were clean and bathroom was nicely cleaned with a shower head that was placed high and didn't hit me in the back of the neck like many inexpensive hotels. Although water pressure was ridiculously low. Overall a great room.

"Third world country motel"
If your that desperate to stay by the beach and just need a place to sleep I guess this place is just for that ... Very dirty old and gross !! I hate to give such a bad review , but it was a uncomfortable stay ... I felt like a rat or roach were gonna climb to bed with me ... Honestly I felt cleaner and more comfortable in my SUV ... The ac is loud and old they are loose from the wall mounting ... Okay for drunk college kids to party at the bars & beach and just have a place to crash out .

"Beautiful historical hotel"
Our room was on the corner on the 4th floor. There was quite a bit of road noise during the night. But staff and hotel was very nice, clean, informative and welcoming. We will definitely be back for another visit.

"nice room especially the bathroom"
The bathroom was handicap accessible and very large with lots of grab bars for handicap persons. were are not handicap but it was nice. The only thing we have to complain about is that the roof was not red it was blue, which made it a little hard to locate but once we saw the sign we knew where to turn in. If we have the chance we will recommend and try to stay at one again.

"Two Night Stay"
Stayed here before going out on our cruise. I really enjoyed this hotel, the room and bathroom were roomy. We didn't feel like we were on top of one another. The beds were very comfortable, the room came with a refrigerator and microwave. Even though we were directly above the restaurant, we didn't hear the people or even smell the food. The breakfast area was on the small size, that was no big deal, they served fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, assortment of pastries, juice and coffee. Looking out our window we were looking right at Willie G's and the Dolphin sight seeing boats, we even seen the cruise ships as they came into port. The location was great for walking right to the strand. Ate at Joe's Crab Shack, I was not impressed, they food was terrible. Jimmy Johns and StarBucks is across the street, not to mention the other restaurant near by. On the website is states that parking is $20.00 a night, which I didn't like and almost didn't book here because of that. I am glad I went through with staying here. But, when we checked out I was charged only $10.00 for parking a night. This hotel does not have a pool or a computer room, but you can take a shuttle to their sister property Hotel Galvez and use the pool or to the Tremont Hotel and I believe they have a bar on the roof top. I didn't use either one so I cant comment on those. However, when I go back to Galveston I will be staying here. Hope you enjoy staying here as much as I did.
