“Location not ideal, but hotel is worth the bus fare to Galway City Centre.”

Stayed here for a few nights with a friend. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was to die for. There is a shopping centre (with a Dunnes) across the street and several bus lines leading directly to City Centre pick up and drop off nearby, so the not-quite-near-enough-to-walk location (in relation to Galway proper) is not a problem in the least.

The walk to Salthill can be lengthy, but it's worth it!

“Beautiful rooms”

While the surrounding area lacks inspiration, the hotel itself is amazing. Rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. While away from most everything, it is on a convenient bus line that we used several times without problems.

“Last night before leaving Ireland”

Great hotel, good restaurant, not too expensive. Looks like lots of business types stay there, probably for good reason. It is a bit complicated finding the place, however, gps would help a lot.

“Needs a thorough cleaning”

We were greeted by friendly staff on our arrival for a one night stay. No waiting got into our rooms within 10 minutes. The room looked great . Comfy beds, nice decor. However when I went to open the drapes I noticed that one of the sheers had something on it. I have no idea what it was but there was no way anyone inspection/cleaning this room could have missed it! I shrugged it off, thinking "maybe it's paint or make-up" We only had one evening in Galway and wanted to make the most of it ,so I let it go. After having a wonderful time at the Kings Head, we headed back to our hotel. Once back in the room I showed our friends the mess on the drape and we discovered that they all felt weird and smelled funky. They have probably never been laundered....GROSS. Loved Galway , would never stay again or recommend it to anyone.

“Great Stay at the Clayton”

This was our third or fourth stay at the Clayton. We visit extended family frequently and the location is convenient to major roads into Galway city as well as neighboring towns. The hotel is well-appointed, staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. A quick lunch at the hotel bar was well-prepared and reasonably priced.

Area recommendations
Galway is a wonderful city - vibrant restaurants, pubs with live music nightly, and good shopping. The downtown area has good buzz but is never overwhelming. Parking is relatively easy to find. People are friendly and helpful - a charming city!

“Great hotel in a great location”

Stayed four nights in this comfortable hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were nicely furnished. Pool/fitness cleanly maintained. Parking was complimentthe Spanish Arch and Quay Street area; close enough to enjoy the shops, pubs and restaurants. The hotel is located about 10-15 minutes drive from Spanish Arch and the Quay Street area; just close enough to enjoy the shops, pubs and restaurants without actually staying downtown. It is also located near major access ways, so it is very convenient to get to some of the suburban/rural areas surrounding Galway Center.

Traveler's tip
The buffet breakfast at the hotel was a good deal, offering both hot and cold foods, fruit, cheese, cold meats.
