“Student accomodation in a nice setting”

Corrib Village is a small estate of semi-detached bungalows on the bank of the River Corrib. Each bungalow has four or five bedrooms, a large living/dining room/kitchen and a bathroom with shower and toilet. You could self-cater if you wanted to, but the restaurant provides breakfast and there is a takeaway and small shop as well on site. Accomodation is basic and usual beaten-up student appearance. You pay extra for wifi. A good place to sleep for a conference at the university (that's what I was there for). There is a free shuttle bus into the centre of town, but I didn't use it as I had my car.

“Great value”

The student village is on the outskirts of Galway;30min walk in or free bus up until 7pm but can be packed. Good basic accommodation. Basic breakfast buffet of cereal, toast, juice,tea, coffee. Problems with hot water when we were there but I would recommend it.

“Lovely pillows”

Better standard than I was expecting. Recommend if looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful. Bed is very comfy, shop on-site. Not too far from Erye Square.

“Best Deal for the Price in Galway”

The Corrib Village is a university dormitory that accepts guests during the summer. It has nothing more than dorm-like accomodation and no more should be expected. Bathroom facilities are shared with the next room. Its principal advantage is price, running a fraction of the cost of hotels or B&Bs. It is clean, if spartan, and as comfortable as such a place could be.

Too far from Eyre Square, 30 minute walk. Not worth the rate.

“Similar to backpackers”

Nice hotel/student accommodation for the price. The continental breakfast was great although very busy with everyone trying to eat at the same time and not enough space. Quite noisy rooms due to some students still living there over summer I think but nice facilities and nothing to complain about. Thanks.

“What a difference a University makes!!”

Upon arrival we were excited to see a store and restaurant rigth across from check-in. As we walked to the room the excitement diminished and was totally extinguished upon entering the room. There was trash all over the outside and an unpleasant odor to the room. The toilet required 20 minutes to refill, the room was far more cramped that the pictures revealed and the hot water didn't last through my first shower. There was internet available for 10.00 EU a week and access to the common kitchen cost another 7.00 EU per day! You couldn't plug anything in the bathroom and the closest plug could not get you close to a mirror with the hairdryer. The staff was unimpressive and of marginal assistance. There is a free shuttle to city center but dosen't leave until noon and the last ride back is at 7:30 so don't expect to stay for music unless you want to taxi it back. The breakfast was included but sparse. The only breadstuff is toast and no hot food is available. Oh, the restaurant I mentioned, it's only open for the "Continental breakfast". Also Galway has a water problem as of 6/07. You can't even brush your teeth with it. Restaurants and pubs mostly have new filter systems and are ok. We had to buy bottled water for use in the room. All in all, bad experience. Find something else! Maybe Dublin City University?
