Excellent family location

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Beautiful setting
Cons: Location to be found with a conventional GPS, we spent a good amount of time driving around
Location: Gallway is a beautiful city but honestly, you may spend a long weekend without getting out of the hotel
The food was excellent, breakfast was served in an old fashioned and stylish way, room was spacious and the facilities excellent for a family

Golfers paradise!

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: The staff! Everyone was keen to ensure our stay was a happy one.
Cons: Beware what looks like a 'Welcome tray'! It's all chargeable (just stopped hubby from helping himself to the wine)!
Location: Situated near Galway City, with plenty of shops and eateries, the hotel is in a lovely quiet location. It's also not far from the Wild Atlantic Way!
Not that we actually play golf but, it has to be said, the course was beautifully situated and managed. The hotel was very comfortable with a variety of dining options. We didn't have a bad meal during our stay. The staff were welcoming and happy to help with any requests they could. We certainly got the impression that our comfort was high on their list of priorities! Situated close to Galway City and all the buzz of a highly cosmopolitan location, we were there in time for the christmas market. Plenty of restaurants and shops to be explored.

Lovely setting and open golf course.

Lovely dinner in the Orient Express dinner car. Golfed one day with great rental clubs. Room was over one of the parking lots and they had a late night wedding which caused me to close my windows. The front desk dealt with it once I informed them of the problem. Very gracious and accommodating staff!

Historic and elegant hotel

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: The setting, the history, the food, the service. All were exactly as advertized and made the ex[erience memorable
Location: You can fish, golf, walk, eat and see the beauty of Ireland
We booked the hotel at short notice and were not disappointed at all. Everything associated with the stay was perfect. They even accommodated an additional night and charged the same on-line rate
