A wedding guest at the Glenlo Abbey HotelPosted May 13, 2015
Pros: It's location. The facilities and above all the staff.
Cons: Not applicable.
Location: For golfers it has a 9 hole golf course. Lough Coribb is nearby for fishermen. The City of Galway is about 10 minutes away by car.
My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. The staff are very proficient, very obliging and friendly. The food is excellent and the staff in the dining room and bars are very professional and friendly. The views around the hotel are beautiful.

Rated 5 star, but only 4 star at best.Posted Apr 26, 2015
Booked this hotel based on prior experiences at Historic Hotels of Europe and other comparable hotels. This did not match up. We do think they are trying to come up to par and we are in their court. It is a lovely hotel on a lovely, historic location. They just need much more strategic mgmt.

Gorgeous hotel in amazing locationPosted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The style, grounds and overall look/feel of the hotel.
Cons: It needs an indoor pool!
We loved our stay at Glenlo. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the rooms are nice and big, and incredibly comfortable. We had dinner on the Pullman on our second night. It's a cute, kitschy thing to do. Food is good, not incredible but entirely enjoyable, and the experience more than makes up for it. Would definitely recommend Glenlo and hopefully we will be back one day.

Glenlo Abbey HotelPosted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Sandra was very helpful in suggesting a dinner place, where to shop, etc.
Cons: Beds are getting a tad worn
Location: Galway City at any time. Best to go when shops are open. Martine's Wine Bar was excellent food!
Beautiful grounds and really nice place. Beds were comfy for the most part. Nice view of the Abbey from room and nice walk down to the lake. Wish I had more time to spend there. Staff was excellent. A big thank you to Sandra who went above and beyond. Only draw back was taking taxi into Galway 4 times vice driving.

Beautiful surroundingsPosted Apr 23, 2015
The hotel staff was helpful and pleasant. The facility is older but completely comfortable. I did not eat in all the restaurants but the food variety and quality I experienced were very good. I'll go back.

Delightful.. welcoming and beautifulPosted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: It's slower pace .. ambiance of a time gone by ... the staff were incredible the setting and surroundings beautiful .
Cons: If you are looking for a fact pace and on demand T.V. this is not the place for you. Loved that the movie selection was on DVD in a library.
Location: Galway city centre, tours of the Cliffs and Connemara
Where can you stay and sit in front of a roaring fire at 2am having it stoked , as well as being provided with drinks. Dinner in the Pullman Restaurant was romantic and nostalgic , the food was delicious and the service impeccable. Breakfast was a delight ... great variety of hot and cold .. I had the eggs benedict, a real treat. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. At one point we had the Cellar bar all to ourselves the barman provided an excellent education on Irish Whiskey .. we tried the Green Dot and made sure to take some back home. Amazing and thank you !!!!!

Beautiful, but quirkyPosted Mar 15, 2015
Room was incredibly hot and the bathroom door closes itself which was quite annoying. Staff is lovely, especially in the lower bar room area.

Fabulous!Posted Mar 14, 2015
My daughter and I arrived late, minutes after the kitchen closed. Jennifer, at Reception, asked the kitchen to take care of us and we had a lovely meal in their beautifully appointed sitting room. Our room was beautiful too. My daughter wanted to take the bed home. When we rose, we were treated to a superb breakfast, then walked the picture perfect grounds. Great location, price and service. Couldn't have been happier!

A warm welcome from the moment you walk in. All staff members are polite and friendly. The views and grounds are fantastic as is the hotel itself. The food is delicious in the hotel and in the restaurant located in the grounds.
