“Very nice hotel but a long walk into town”

We stayed at the Menlo Park Hotel on the first leg of our 9 day Ireland trip. The hotel was very nice and the full Irish breakfast that was included in our package was quite good. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful with directions into town. The only negative aspect was the long walk into town. But perhaps with better weather the walk would have not been as difficult.

Area recommendations
Eyre Sq. and the Latin Quarter are very interesting and worth exploring.
Must see
St. Nicholas Cathedral, the Spanish Arch, Lynch's Castle and the City Museum.
Nightlife
An Pucan Pub where we were treated to a great pub meal, traditional Irish music and a peformance by 2 "Riverdancers."

Dear Sir, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay and liked our hotel. We are located a mile from the centre. There is a bus service and a freephone for taxis at reception. No doubt better weather would make the walk a bit more pleasant! We find that guests like that our location makes access easy and free parking relatively close to the city is of advantage. “Convenient Location”

Menlo Park is about a 10 minute walk from downtown, so less noisy than being in the thick of things, but close enough to walk to everything. The hotel could use an updating or renovation as it is looking a bit dated, but the staff was very helpful and the rooms were comfortable.

Recently we received the Gold award for our accommodation standards and we pride ourselves that we continue to re-invest in our product as we are a family owned, privately held operation. “Wonderful stay in Galway”

A very good property with very courteous and helpful staff. The restaurant and pub were great. Good music on the weekend. I would stay there again. Great value.
