Dog Friendly HotelPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Had a great time. Brought our dog with us, he was welcome in all parts of the hotel except the bar and restaurant. Great facilities at the hotel including free rowing and kyaking. The hotel itself is full of old world charm and is therefore not as modern as some hotels. The first thing that hits you when you enter the hotel is the wonderful smell of the turf fires. The hotel's motto is that you are entering a stress free zone and they live up to it. Will certainly be back.

A historic hotel in a fabulous location.Posted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: Excellent location. Clean rooms. The GM was very helpful in resolving a question about our bill.
Cons: The hotel is showing its age in places.
Location: Easy access to Connemara National Park as well as the Connemara Loop.
We enjoyed our stay. It was a great base for exploring Connemara.

Renvyle House is a special place. On the shore of the Atlantic, with a vast view of sea, islands and mountains, great staff and wonderful food.

Goes on our "Favorite Places" ListPosted Jul 8, 2013
Our entire family had a great time at Renvyle House. It was the perfect mix for us of relaxing but with lots of activities on property and within a short drive. The word "homey" is over-used but is a perfect way to describe the place. The staff took care of everything we needed -- from meals to drinks to scheduling activities. And we had a great time talking with the other guests, most of whom are Irish families from across the island (and many of whom come back every year). My wife and I particularly enjoyed hanging out in the common areas in the evenings -- it's like being at home but with someone else pouring the drinks and doing the dishes .... A few things to be aware of: the plumbing works about as well as you'd expect for a 100 year old building (limited hot water and limited pressure). I don't think I saw a TV anywhere (might have missed it though since we didn't look for one). And it rains a lot on the west coast of Ireland (not that this really mattered -- we had such a long list of things we wanted to do that we just picked the ones for each day that matched that day's weather).

Utter RelaxationPosted Mar 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Absolutely loved Renvyle. The staff were so welcoming and you felt relaxed from the moment you stepped through the doors. The food in the restaurant was first class and both for dinner and breakfast the staff went out of their way to find us a cosy romantic corner table. If you need to go somewhere to relax and get away from it all this is the place. I feel bad giving any negative comment because we were so happy with our stay but the only drawback was that the bed was very uncomfortable. Could do with renewing their matresses.

Absolutely beautiful though pretty far off the beaten path. Right in the water. Incredible views and food. Would return in a heartbeat.
