Really nice hotel with ideal location

Posted Jul 2, 2014
I spent five there days for work and the hotel was just what I needed. Really well situated in the center of Galway (you can reach all the main places in 5-10 minutes walk).

Friendly,central hotel .

Pros: Central location. Friendly, efficient staff. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bed. The car park ; a little bit tricky but it was free.
Location: . Do visit the City Museum (excellent coffee shop). We also enjoyed meals at "The Latin Quarter" and "McDonagh's.
On the first night, we had dinner at the hotel. Nice restaurant and very attentive service but the food lacked imagination.

Pros: nothing
Cons: need a new manager with a vision coupled with customer service and have an honesty
Location: none
Never seen a bad hotel in my life, misleading and more misleading and ever the milk was off

Friendly staff; not what I expected

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: •Breakfast was great in the morning! •Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful including the bar/restaurant staff •bar attached to it was busy and very nice •food was great in the restaurant and their 3 course menu was a good price. Cons: •Farther from the action- bars/restaurants than we thought (ps I was told to check out Jury's Inn if you want to be close to everything). It's still within walking distance and very close to Eyre square if you want to read/relax. We thought it was in the main square area so this may have been our fault. •wifi was horrible! We could only get it in one spot in the hallway of our floor. When we asked we were told it was throughout the hotel. •room smelt funky. It was stuffy and had an odor. The bed was hard but the pillows were really comfy!

Close to the center of town.

Pros: Old style charm but modern.
Cons: Let travelers know how to find the car park prior to arriving, hard to figure out that you past the hotel and turn down a side street, then turn again
Location: The hotel is right off of the town square. You can walk and see all of the attractions in Galway town. Walk to shopping and restaurants.
Love the old style charm. Right off of the town square. Stayed for 2 days. The Cliffs of Moher are a beautiful hour and fifteen minute drive from the hotel. The staff were great. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Good

The room was a standard hotel room; no particular pro or con to relay. The location was good to walk to the main drag of tourist pubs and restaurants. It was dark when we checked in and was so windy/rainy/miserably cold the next morning we opted not to do any additional exploration in the daylight. I thought the breakfast was good and efficiently handled. There wasn't any music in the bar the night we stayed but the bartender was friendly. We couldn't find the car park on our own. Luckily we found a spot to park on the side street then checked in to get directions to the garage. The garage is on the side street to the right of the hotel, first street on the left.
