“TLC required!!”
The hotel looks rather "tired" from the outside. Inside, I felt that it was lacking from a corporate identity one experiences elsewhere. Being an independent hotel is one thing, but most independent hotels have that little bit more of a "wow" factor sadly lacking at l`Orangerie. I found the speaking of English to be very limited in the hotel. E.g, I requested a courtesy tray from Reception (why are these not left in the room as a matter of course?) only to find that there was no milk on the tray. You would not believe the difficulty I had in requesting a small carton/sachet/etc of milk! I finished up with a silver jug of warm milk! We did not use the restaurant, and I cannot imagine how I would have made my meal preference known if a carton of milk caused them a problem! The car park at the Hotel is not large enough. On the evening we arrived there was a Rotary function taking place which severely restricted guests parking. The absence of lined parking bays had the effect of letting people park indiscriminately. Our stay at the hotel was one night only, en route to the airport, so the problems we encountered were of little consequence, but a longer stay could, I fear, have led to some discussion between the staff and myself! Overall, for what we paid it was adequate - nothing more. I trust that you will find these comments useful.
