Christmas visit to Garndervill
Thsis is a nice place to stay if you are on a summer vacation. For us it was way too far out from our family during christmas

I was cold and hungry
I needed a place at the last minute. I wasn’t going to try the Sonora Pass at night. It was very hard to see my way from 395 to the hotel on private unlit roads on a steep hill. I was checked in without a fuss and the room was fine. There weren’t enough blankets and the room had one of those noisy heat controls that didn’t work well. There was no easy way to get food at night so I got very hungry before the very decent breakfast spread in the morning.

We came from out of state for a wedding. The first Front Desk agent was VERY helpful, going as far as checking the passes for me to insure our safe arrival ahead of the storm. Our room was on the first floor & had a great view of the lake with seating by the window to enjoy it. Rooms could use a small directory (there was 1 map at the front desk providing directional information) of local business with closing times since it’s such a small town. Beds were a touch hard for my liking but that’s a preference thing. Normal continental breakfast…if you’re really hungry head down to the topaz lodge for breakfast & a beautiful view of the lake while you eat. Overall rating would be 4.5 for price, seclusion, view & breakfast ❤️. Good Job little Best Western

It was fine, thank you, but we couldn’t close our drapes to keep out the bright morning light. And our tv only played one station. No matter, we weren’t here to watch tv!

I didn't like the fact then when I showed up the lobby was completely closed and locked up with no staff to check me in. It was after midnight, I was late arriving due to some car problems, but did not expect that!!

Beds were a little soft, but overall this was one of the more enjoyable stays we have had in a long time.The breakfast was was the usual affair ,but was taken to the next level as to taste and presentation, and the spectacular view of the lake didn't hurt either !

The driveway entrance was Not lit up at all. There was a blind driveway and it was pitch black when we drove in. We drove right by it. Thank God I had the number to the hotel and I called and both desk clerks came outside and guided us via our headlights to the right road to enter in on. They were great BUT they locked the front door and vestibule areas overnight so we could not get a luggage cart at 5 AM when we needed to leave the next morning. That was very disappointing and we were not told about that. That made car loading very difficult and cumbersome the next morning.

Service was excellent, only issue was water pressure in shower, we told the front desk at checkout and she was sending some one up to room. Great view of lake.Checkin was fast and clerk very welcoming
