Impressed by reviews. The Lofts lived up to expectations. Airy, spacious, smart, clean, fantastic views. Not sure I would recommend it for families [the open plan bedroom space is too communal] but excellent for young professionals or retired couples wanting to see the sights of Toulouse. The apartment felt like a cross between hotel and self-catering. All the comforts of a hotel - clean towels, linen, soap etc and all the privacy and freedom of a self catering place. The space has been very well thought out - pleasing to the eye but fully functional. Equipment provided all in good working order.

There's a lot to like about the Hotel Héliot. It's just few blocks from the train station, Place Wilson, and the the old city. Our room was big by French city standards, the bed was comfortable, and the big windows let in lots of light and kept out the street noise (it's on a quiet, one-way street). The clientele is international--French and English-speaking on our visit. But the star of the show is Frédéric, the owner and host. He welcomed us like old friends, took our bags to our room on the rhird floor (there's no eleavator), suggested a city tour and a restsurant, served us breakfast, and he speaks fluent English. Frédéric est fantastique.
So is the Héliot.

Stayed in standard room for one night and executive room for two. Standard fine but executive worth the extra tariff. Very comfortable, very clean and fantastically friendly staff. Only a 10 minute stroll to the city centre and with plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby. Canal Du Midi right behind hotel too. A real gem

Good value hotel on the edge of the old town. Quiet despite the central location. Area boarders a grotty bit of town and a few drunks and people liviing on the street but nothing too close and ceratinly nothing that put you off.

Stayed just one night having flown in to Toulouse in the early evening and needing to catch a train early the following morning. My room was comfortable and tastefully decorated to a good standard. Breakfast was available although I did not have time and contended myself with a coffee in my room. No other meals are served at the hotel but there are plenty of restaurants nearby - I recommend La Meuniere in Rue de Bayard for basic French fare. If you want a smarter, more gastronomic experience head for the centre of town. The hotel has a pleasant bar area and a small outdoor pool. Reception staff speak excellent English which can be useful if your French is like mine - O level 1964 standard.
