Impressed by reviews. The Lofts lived up to expectations. Airy, spacious, smart, clean, fantastic views. Not sure I would recommend it for families [the open plan bedroom space is too communal] but excellent for young professionals or retired couples wanting to see the sights of Toulouse. The apartment felt like a cross between hotel and self-catering. All the comforts of a hotel - clean towels, linen, soap etc and all the privacy and freedom of a self catering place. The space has been very well thought out - pleasing to the eye but fully functional. Equipment provided all in good working order.

There's a lot to like about the Hotel Héliot. It's just few blocks from the train station, Place Wilson, and the the old city. Our room was big by French city standards, the bed was comfortable, and the big windows let in lots of light and kept out the street noise (it's on a quiet, one-way street). The clientele is international--French and English-speaking on our visit. But the star of the show is Frédéric, the owner and host. He welcomed us like old friends, took our bags to our room on the rhird floor (there's no eleavator), suggested a city tour and a restsurant, served us breakfast, and he speaks fluent English. Frédéric est fantastique.
So is the Héliot.

The staff at this hotel were excellent! We needed a room for 3 people and reserved a suite which was on the 2nd (well, 2.5) floor just above Le Kentucky Bar. The suite was spacious and well laid out. There was a "master" bedroom with a sitting area and two windows facing the street. The Kentucky bar closes at 2am, so there was some noise late at night, but not a lot. The bathroom and toilet were separate from one another in the entryway, which made using them convenient as we could close both bedroom doors and not wake anyone else in our party if necessary. The only negatives I can cite are that the bathroom (shower room) door did not close all the way- I think the door frame had swelled-and the toilet seat slid when one was on it! The kitchenette was in the second room and consisted of a sink, a fridge, and a cabinet. No microwave. We asked the gentleman at the front desk if we may use the hotel kitchen's microwave and he was nice enough to not only heat up our leftovers, but to give us little desserts, too! The breakfast buffet was limited and expensive so we went next door to the Kentucky where breakfast was much less. We ordered room service once and were served the best Mousakka I have ever had! There are a few great restaurants across the street, and a small grocery store around the corner on Strasbourg. The staff readily shared any news about what was happening that day and gave great directions! I would recommend this hotel to everyone and will visit it again!

Very nice room on the top floor with great views over the city. The hotel is close to transport ie. Mainline trains, metro and buses. Close to the city centre and near some nice restaurants. Very friendly staff, who provided a useful map with places of interest and local supermarket.

Stayed in standard room for one night and executive room for two. Standard fine but executive worth the extra tariff. Very comfortable, very clean and fantastically friendly staff. Only a 10 minute stroll to the city centre and with plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby. Canal Du Midi right behind hotel too. A real gem

I have high praise for the reception staff. The elevator was under repair when I arrived, but the receptionist made sure my suitcase was taken upstairs (two flights) so I didn't have to carry it. Later, when the Wi-Fi went out, a very nice (different) couple at reception spent 20 minutes finding out and fixing the problem. They also arranged for, and confirmed with me, a taxi for 5:30 the next morning. This was my second stay in this hotel. The rooms are compact, but modern and clean. If street noise bothers you, ask for a room off the boulevard; personally, I like the night view of the handsome old Gare Matabiau. I don't know how fluent staff members are in English because I spoke French.
