Small and friendly hotelPosted Jul 24, 2012
Pros: Very nice staff.
Cons: Very small room
Location: Gatehouse of Fleet is an extremely nice place to stay and the surrounding area particularly beautiful.
This hotel is "small and friendly" but the room we were allocated was far from really being a double room. Very small with very little room round the bed. However the bed was comfortable and the room and ensuite were very clean. The breakfast was good and the staff extremely nice and very very helpful. The bar area and dining room were not really what we would term inviting. Having said that, for what we paid for two nights it was adequate.

Quirky but worth a stayPosted Jun 15, 2012
Location: Gatehouse of Fleet is a great base for touring and walking.
tiny but comfortable room, very comfortable bed. visitor book going back four years contains comments re TV not working and it still doesn't. Left room at 8.25 am for breakfast. Downstairs was in darkness and front doors were locked with no sign of anyone present. After a short walk i returned to the hotel and breakfast staff were then present and I was served promptly. in saying all that, I enjoyed my stay and will stay again.

Good value for moneyPosted Jun 7, 2012
Pros: shower, breakfast
Location: Lovely village. Limited, but nice shops. Good park. Lovely countryside and coast to explore.
Twin room as travelling with 12 yrs old granddaughter. Beds comfortable, bed linen freshly ironed, white and very clean/fresh. Plenty of extra bedding in the room. Excellent drawer space. Plenty of hnagers in wardrobe. Shower best ever. Water lovely and hot whenever needed. Good size wash basin and toilet flushed well. Decor dated, but very clean. Nice curtains with good backout. Old style TV and very high up, but SKY, although not every channel - plenty for a 2 day stay! Nice guest lounge. Breakfast extremely good, and cooked individually. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Small bar, but functional etc. Lovely dining room - simple decor, but clean and fresh.

Awaiting developmentPosted May 17, 2012
Pros: The staff where very helpful and eager to please.
Location: The town is very pleasant, very interesting and full of history
The room was clean, however whilsr the bed looked attractive it was uncomfortable. Probible because it had not been errected correctly. The radiator in the room needed to be bled it was warm at the bottom but cold at the top. In the ensuit the light above the mirror was broken and not working. Overall this hotel was under going alterations which were almost completed as could be seen in the dinning area. But the finer details have not yet been completed. I am sure that when completed this will be a very pleasant hotel.
