For stag and hen parties look elsewhere

Great location if you want friendly hosts, peace and quiet and a decent breakfast. Only problem with it being miles from the nearest town (Gateshead) is that internet signal is variable. Otherwise excellent in every way.

Fantastic! Lovely Idyllic location

I don't generally stay in B&B type locations, however this place has changed that. The location is a little of the beaten track but that is to it's advantage. The location is lovely with idyllic views all round and overlooking Newcastle. Was welcomed at the door and taken to a lovely well kept double bedroom with all the facilities including DVD TV and a supply of DVD's if required. Local produce breakfast was superb. Just 1 thing, I only had 2 days here, more would've been better. Thank you.

Excellent Farm B&B stay

The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly. Went to great efforts to make our stay as good as possible. Rooms all very nicely furnished in "country living" style. Very good breakfast. Good location for visiting Beamish and easy access to motorway for trips to Durham, Gateshead etc.

What an amazing find

Posted Jan 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
From the moment I arrived and was helped up the slippery snow covered drive by Angus I knew that attention to customers was high on the agenda. A fantasic room, comfy bed, excellent en suit and kitchen area supplied me with all I needed for a great over night stay. Spoilt with a selection of DVD's to view and music to listen to as well. During the evening Angus asked if I needed anything from the shops as he was going there in his 4x4 and when I needed an iron Angus rushed one over. A great English breakfast saw me part with a full stomach and a smile on my face - ready for the next days visits. Many thanks to Angus and Louise for a great stay. I will def book again if I am in the area.

Faultless and beyond

I have no words that adequately describe this hotel and especially the owner. In dour weather and many local floods, I was a couple of hours behind schedule when I received a call from the owner, with local information about routes and closures. When more roads closed, he drove out to meet me and guide me safely to the farm! On arrival, I was presented with a beautiful room where the attention to detail was clearly evident. When I entered the elegant dining room in the morning, I could have expected nothing less than a perfect breakfast to set me up for the day. I do hope I get more work nearby!

Absolute Perfection

We booked two nights B&B in a Double Room but were upgraded to a three bedroom cottage. Everything about the farm was wonderful, friendly and helpful hosts, good food and excellent location for all the nearby sites. e.g. Angel of The North, Beamish Museum, Gateshead, Newcastle, Chester Le Street, Gibside N.T. Would highly recommend this place.
