The construction worker hotel.

Posted Jan 5, 2014
The room and grounds were decent, but a corner in the bathroom were rotted out and the pillows needed replacing. Also, some guy drove into the parking lot and motioned to me like he was wondering if I was the guy he was supposed to be seeing about something. Hmm... The place was occupied by construction workers that were flicking cigarette butts off the second floor landings and hanging out outside of their rooms. I'm not looking to slam the place, but I wouldn't pay $78.00 to stay there again. If I had to sum it up, it's a cheep off the highway place you don't stop at if you have a choice.

Best place to stay in the area, but not the best!

Cons: Hidden charges!
Location: When in Gatesville, there aren't many options. This will do.
I have to travel here every 3-4 months and since there isn't much in the area, this place does the job. It could use a little more (breakfast options, updating, etc) and is a bit overpriced, but as I said, you don't have much to choose from.

Ugh, not a quality Best Western

I rented this room due to it's close location to North Fort Hood. That's about all it has going for it! It is close to a Walmart if that helps its cause. When we first went into the room it had a really heavy cleaning smell and i'm assuming they had just shampooed the carpets because we left footprints when we walked across the room (at least I'm hoping that's why). I was really concerned about the smell because I was traveling with my 3 month old baby. Which brings me to my next point, I requested an infant crib and it looked like a little metal baby jail. It was this tiny metal crib on wheels and I was afraid to even put my little one in it. All the other hotels we stayed in offered new pack n plays complimentary and this hotel had me five dollars for a little baby deathtrap. At one point during the night I actually heard my little guy bang his head against one of the metal bars! I was not happy with this at all. We never made it to breakfast but I could tell there wasn't much there when I went in to check out. The TV was also in poor conditions, it was old and the screen was all blurry and neon colored. I was just not satisfied with this hotel.

Beds are a little hard, but the staff is very good at keeping things neat & clean. Even thou the weather was very hot, the pool was cool.
