3 Night Stay Without Housekeeping Services

Posted May 1, 2015
Pros: Proximity to the sites and restaurants in Gatlinburg
Cons: Refurbish rooms, encourage quiet in the halls at night, improve breakfast Most of all: provide the minimum service expected of a hotel
Location: Smokies next door. Most of Gatlinburg in walking distance. 20 minute scenic drive to the "magic" of Pigeon Forge
For at least 13 years we have trusted and travelled with Expedia, frequently and with success. We retired to GA and now take monthly road trips to explore the southeast. We wanted to experience the beauty of the Smokies, unique charm of Gatlinburg, and "magic" of Pigeon Forge. The price for 3 nights at this property was reasonable, which made the at least 5 other issues we found with the room and "breakfast" tolerable, not worthy of complaint. A 3 night stay without any housekeeping service, even after we politely notified the front desk early in the stay, is some thing we have NEVER experienced. We had to make frequent trips to the front desk for clean towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, coffee packets, soap etc and dispose of our takeout refuse in the hall. We are disappointed , to say the least.

Bullseye find in the heart of Gatlinburg

Posted Apr 22, 2015
Cons: The bathroom sink faucet couldn't 'balance' between extremely hot and cold with no warm option without frustration. Firm mattress in R106.
Location: The famous Gatlinburg Space Needle and Fun Center are right across the no-traffic street. Ripley's Believe it or Not is @ the end of the block (60yds)
In the former location of a one-level Mall, this unique, quint motel is efficiently located in the heart of Gatlinburg with easy access to both the main 441 strip and within walking distance of all-things Gatlinburg. In fact, it took my spouse and I only 6 minutes to reach the Ripley's Aquarium from our front door motel room. Front street parking (Reagan St), main-level accommodations, fresh complimentary breakfast, smiling friendly staff, and a clean room are attributes I look for in all of my stays: The Econo Lodge at Convention Center fulfilled all of my requirements.

Worn and Outdated

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Would NOT recommend staying here! This was my first time at an EL based in previous reviews. It was outdated and worn, very dark in the room even with the lights on. Lock on the door was the old fashion chain type. Not enough parking, tight space for the lobby. Never thought I was high maintenance until I stayed here.

Good location

Good location in gatlinburg within walking distance of everything. The hotel wasn't super clean but worked for our trip. The room had an odd smell but did have a door to a balcony that we opened to air it out.

Nice accommodations near downtown

Posted Mar 26, 2015
The rooms and the location were just right for our get away. Everything was easily within walking distance. The rooms were good - clean, beds were comfortable, two sinks and mirrors were a bonus. Enjoyed the balcony although the chairs need to be replaced. Will stay there again.
