This place is run down.Posted Sep 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
I will not return here. The rooms are run down and the elevators are extremely slow. There is not enough parking and where there is parking for a van, they do not patrol it to keep motorcycles from parking there.

Smoky Mountain vacation at Edgewater HotelPosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: The convenience of it being so close to everything in downtown Gatlinburg. The room was nice and clean.
Cons: The elevator situation and allowing their quests to stay until check-out time!!!
Location: Everything in Downtown Gatlinburg.
The room was nice, the location was convenient and the lobby staff was nice and helpful. The elevators were HORRIBLE!!!!! We learned real quick, get on the elevator when you have a chance, even if it's going up and you need to go down. The elevators are extremely slow and always full. The cleaning staff was beating on our door 2 hours before check-out time. If I paid for the room, I would at least like to have the time to get ready and get my stuff packed up without having to deal with them at 9:00 a.m. on my check-out day.

Convenient location in Gatlinburg.Posted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: WiFi service could be improved and vent fans in bathrooms would be a big improvement.
Location: If you have ever been to Gatlinburg, you know what the Smoky Mountains have to offer. From quiet mountain trails, to every conceivable tourist trap.
The Edgewater was overall a pleasant experience. Staff was friendly and efficient. Continental breakfast is always a plus. Location in Gatlinburg was the best quality as it was centrally located and made accessing all the attractions on the strip very easy. On the downside, the carpet in the hallways was definitely dated and could have looked cleaner. The advertised free WiFi did not work for us at all and the bathroom had no vent fan in it. Can't say I've ever seen a bathroom with no vent fan before. The room was clean and tidy though. I would recommend the hotel.

The only 2 missing qualities was the difficulty in accessing the elevators (length of time) and no restaurant/bar. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Located near downtownPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room itself was lovely. Having a microwave and frig were a great benefit. We visited in July and so we were often thirsty from being in the sun and sweating. Saved some money by purchasing drinks, and snacks from a grocery store instead of the costs of buying from a vending machine. Only complaints were that the hotel had only two elevators. If you can take stairs, I suggest doing it in the mornings and around 3 p.m. in the afternoon. We jumped on anytime the doors opened even if it was going the other way (up/down). Also parking spaces are very narrow. If you own Smart car or other small vehicle, you are good to go. We had construction across the street, but that won't last forever.
