Family vacation

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: The room size was nice and it's location . The free breakfast also.
Cons: Maybe breakfast selection. The restrooms by the pool need some work.
Location: The trolley center and the aquarium are close, just 2-3 blocks away. The space needle and the sky lift are a few blocks away in the other direction .
Our stay at the Edge water was very nice. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice, not a wide selection of things but you could make waffles everyday and they had sausage , biscuits and gravy most days and eggs one day. The other nice thing about breakfast is they were never rushing you out of there to clean it up at the end like other places. The hotel is close to the trolley headquarters and the aquarium and within walking distance to other downtown attractions. We enjoyed our stay there, would recommend it to others and would return again.

Fair hotel. close to main strip.

Pros: Staff was very friendly. It has an indoor pool and hot tub. Parking was easily accessible.
Cons: Need more hot items for continental breakfast. they only serve 1 per day.
Location: Downtown Gatlinburg. Lots of shops and attractions within walking distance. Trolley service comes right by hotel.
Hotel was advertised on website as having smoking rooms. When we arrived at check-in we were informed hotel was completely nonsmoking. Staff was very friendly. Rooms are shabbier than they were when we stayed before. Hotel uses cheapest products available in the rooms. Towels and bathcloths were very rough. Continental breakfast was disappointing. We have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed ourselves very much. We will not be returning here.

Awesome ... So much to do

We were never bored in Gatlinburg, our 1st time in Gatlinburg would highly recommend the Edgewater hotel. Loved the glass elevator and that the creek was running right outside the hotel. The beds were comfortable and we were within walking distance to so many places. The pool was awesome. Nice place to stay The trolley was fun it was free. We regretted leaving to go to a hotel with a waterpark we loved it in a Gatlinburg.

Nice. Affordable, close to downtown

We really liked this hotel! It is an older hotel but it is affordable and quaint. It is right in the heart of Gatlinburg. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed this hotel and will be back.

Great place to stay!

The hotel was great with a roomy stay with a frig and microwave. The breakfast was great and plentiful. The pool and hot tubs were amazing with an indoor/outdoor pool connected via a wall you swim under. We loved the amenities and friendly staff too.

Cons: Elevators! Very slow. Carpet needed a good cleaning.
Perfect location. It was great being able to park our car at the hotel and walk.

I was not happy with the maintenance at the hotel.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel.
Cons: The entire building needed to get a good cleaning.
Location: The location was great. We were withing walking distance to everything in Gatlinburg and close to Pigeon Forge.
I kept finding others hairs in my "clean" towels and once in my bed. There were a lot of cob webs around the building and chipping paint, especially in the pool area. The hot tubs and pool were stained and needed a good cleaning and painting.

Nice location, but older and needs renovated

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything except the location.
Location: Great spot one block off the strip, picturesque with mountain behind it and river in front of it, easy walk to many attractions.
Huge waits for elevators (only two elevators for entire hotel) and stairs are inconveniently located. Great location but hotel needs updated and renovated. Staff could be friendlier and more helpful making dining recommendations and such instead of just pointing you to tourist trap eateries and such they obviously must have deals with. We asked for an out of the way pizza parlor and they directed us to the two biggest touristy pizza joints on the main drag. Pool area is run down and very loud, video games are in need of repair, etc. If the hotel is revamped and made modern I would stay there again due to the good location but until they do I will be staying elsewhere.

Not this trip

I have stayed at this hotel several times. It is located perfectly. My problems were the hot tub: half jets were working and it was dirty. The air in the room had a mind of its own. We couldn't get it regulated. Finally, it took me half the day to recover from the beds. I would recommend this hotel as I think we just weren't meant to stay there this time around. The lady at the front desk was very nice trying to help us and eventually canceling the remainder of our stay.

It was great. It was walking range of attractions. The parking garage was great.
