“You get what you pay for”
The staff was great except the manager/owner
We picked this room because the kids wanted a fireplace, it was pet-friendly, and we needed a microwave.
When we arrived there was no fireplace (was told they cost more money), the coffee maker didn't work and no microwave
To the staff's credit they did everything they could to make it right, except for the manager/owner. When I told him what was advertised and why we chose his hotel, he said the microwaves were on a "first come, first serve" basis. (We made our reservation over 1 month ago.) Also, he said "Expedia makes a lot of promises they can't follow through with."
The hotel was very roomy and looked good but was in need of much repair-the heat/air didn't work and when you ran it a buzzer sound like in basketball went off about every 30 seconds. Thankfully we didn't need it unitl right before we checked out.
This hotel is like many of the old hotels in the area. It's falling apart and has been neglected.
General rule of thumb when visiting Gatlinburg-you get what you pay for in a hotel room.
Good room for pets/children.
The best part about the hotel is it is centrally located in downtown Gatlinburg.
