Pros: location was good
Cons: WiFi
Location: good distance from center of town
The wifi was terrible, couldn't get or keep a connection at all. Room wasn't dark enough.

OK in a pinch!

Pros: The cleanliness was acceptable
Cons: The hotel could have a better system at allotting rooms. Apparently they only guarantee you a room, not a type, so a woman w/ 4 in her party only got
Location: The hotel is fairly close to the Gatlinburg parkway where there are a lot of restaurants, shops, etc. However, it probably isn't within easy walking.
The experience was fine as I was only there to sleep and got this hotel room at about 12:00 midnight as it popped up at the last minute when all other hotels in the area were full. The cleanliness was acceptable. The facility is old, but clean. The pool definitely isn't as sparkling and new as in the pictures on the website. Check in was smooth, however be aware that there was a woman at the front desk complaining because she had booked her room in advance, and had a party of 4 and when she arrived, her room only had one bed in it and she was saying she booked a room with a double bed. The hotel staff said that they had a policy where they only guaranteed that you would get a room, not a specific type, so according to them even if you request a room with 2 beds, doesn't mean you get it....crazy!

Hotel near downtown

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Condition
The location of this hotel is a plus since it is so close to everything, you can walk. It also is off the main street and therefore, more quiet. However, the hotel is shabby and needs refurbishing. The front lobby has old upholstery that needs cleaning. The room we stayed in needed a facelift and some repairs. For the money, I would not return.

Not 3 star hotel

House keeper did a horrible job cleaning. Trash was not taken out and did not vacuum. Hotel is old and outdated. The wall is too thin, so it was very noisy.

Looks nice but....

It looks like a nice hotel but our room would not cool down and the shower head only had a small stream. The main elevator broke down and you had to go all of the way to the other end of the hotel to use the backup. Pool was cold and the water smelled weird. We were glad we were only staying one night.

Terrible staff!

Cons: If they allow housekeepers to knock on doors in early morning, then at least provide a sign of "do not disturb" for us to put outside!
The housekeeper wake me up at 9:05 am by knocking the door in a very rude manner, saying that she wants to clean the room! The front desk was rude as well!

We had a wonderful time at the Glenstone. The rooms were huge and comfortable, the hotel and pool were very clean, and the pool was huge. I loved the set up and the fact that one entire pool was only seven feet or deeper. If you're the kind of person who wants to be left alone, you'll love it here.
