Basic lodging, but with a good river viewPosted Jul 25, 2015
Location: Motel is 1/2 mile from downtown main drag. Hillbilly Golf and Mountain Coaster Ride across the road, and 2 pancake restaurants about 3 blocks away.
The GOOD: Private balconies with patio chairs and a great view of the river; very comfortable bed; clean rooms; the heated bathroom floor was a pleasant surprise; nice strong shower stream, had all the usual amenities; appliances and fireplace were functional; trolley stop across street from motel, desk clerks were pleasant and (somewhat!) helpful. The BAD: Rooms so small we had to edge sideways between furnishings; very low ceilings; chairs/sofa cushions so worn we felt we were sitting in a hole; balcony's privacy door fell down (on us!) when we opened it; paid for free breakfast but none evident (clerk/reservations didn't bother telling us we needed to walk 2 or 3 blocks to their sister motel [Days Inn] to get the breakfast);

The room was clean except for the bathtub, it had black stuff coming up out of the drain.

Great overlook on the waterPosted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Updated and VERY COMFORTABLE rooms!
Cons: I will ALWAYS wonder why I have to ask for the number of towels that support the quantity of people I booked!
Location: Right across from the hillside miniature golf (Hillbilly) and close to one of the new Alpine slides.
This hotel has been around for a while. So, it has some things making it look dated. BUT! The rooms are updated and are very clean and comfortable.

First time visiting GatlinburgPosted Jul 9, 2015
Location was excellent. You are within walking distance and trolley picks you up right outside the hotel. Balcony offers privacy and view of pigeon forge river.

Pros: Close to river
Cons: Every thing was fine, but the room was small
Location: Every thing in walking distance Also parking right next to our deck was great
The hotel was fine but old. We loved the deck so close to the river. The hotel room was small, but clean. Had a little trouble with the maid. She Could not speak English which was a problem.

DisappointmentPosted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: It did have a balcony on the creek and was within walking distance of Gatlinburg downtown.
Cons: I don't mind old and dated, but dirt and disrepair are not acceptable.
While the bathroom was spotless, the carpet and upholstery were filthy. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean, but worn. We stayed the three nights of our reservation, but would not stay there again.

Lovely, enjoyed the balcony over the river.Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The Staff! The office manager was incredible. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, location was great, the balcony was beyond all expectations.
Cons: A flat screen TV
Location: On the Gatlinburg downtown strip
I wasn't expecting such a lovely place, especially because we booked it at the last minute on Expedia. When we arrived, the skies opened. The office manager was giving me the key, then said "just a moment, I'll give you another room that has an overhang for your car." It is such consideration that will make us choose to stay here again in the future. The sound of the river below our private balcony soothed our nerves after driving for 10 hours in terrible weather.

Affordable, clean and on the river!Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: rooms with balconies overlooking the river and away from the street.
Location: The heart of Gatlinburg and all attractions is walking distance or a Trolley ride away.
if you are looking for a comfortable, affordable room, Rocky Waters offers this. the hotel is dated but he rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. There is a pool for hot summer afternoons. not fancy, but straight up decent.
