“Didn't want to leave...”

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We loved the decor and feel which was tasteful and yet reminded us we had come to the mountains to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. The room was cleaned daily, including adding dirty dishes to DW and running. Each evening we returned to our room to find our bed turned down and a yummy homebaked treat waiting for us (enough for our family of four). We had a lovely complimentary breakfast each morning as we sat outside and enjoyed the spectacular view. But what most impressed us was the pavilion area which they do not do justice to in the add. We were driven down to their pavilion at our request (there is also a hiking path). Once there we were greeted by a lit fire in the fireplace, soft music and comforts such as bottled waters and even bug spray (which we had forgotten but didn't need). The lodge employee then lit a fire for us and we made smores, enjoyed the hammock by the stream and waded in the water with our children and their fishing pools. It was a great experience and the next time we will plan on spending much more time just enjoying the amenities of the lodge. The one suggestion I would have for the hotel as an improvement would be to add a small functional dresser within the room. There were two areas in which one would fit nicely. Overall, we will never look for another place to stay in the Smokey Mountains as long as The Lodge at Buckberry Creek is available.

“Best relaxation we ever had”

If you want real relaxation, this is the place. Great accomodations, quiet, comfortable, excellent food, fabulous scenery. And only a few minutes from all the excitement of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge if you want family activities galore. This rates very high on our list of great vacations.

“WOW!!! Magnificent Little Resort”

I have stayed at a lot of very nice hotels/resorts around the country and abroad and this has to be one of my most satisfying experiences!!! We stayed two nights and it felt like I was away for a week. Everything was perfect. The grounds are just beautiful, the view from the balconies are spectacular, the rooms are the most warm and inviting place to relax and unwind. The entire staff is just unbelievable. From the moment you check in till the sad moment you check out they all make you feel as though you are the most important guest they have and will make sure your stay is perfect. The food!!! I have 15 years experience in 4 & 5 star restaurants and the Chef they have is on top of the game and will provide a truly memorable and world class culinary experience. They are blessed to have a Chef of his caliber at such a small resort. Buckberry Lodge, Don't change a thing, you have nailed it. I can easily see why you have earned a spot in the popular "1000 Places To See Before You Die" series. We can't wait to go back.

“Elegant Comfort, the way it should be done!”

The Smoky Mountains have just been upscaled. The suites are in several different lodges, some with 2 or three floors. They are spacious and exude a classy, yet rustic elegance, perfect for a moutain getaway!

“Relaxing getaway!!!”

I travel around the world and tend to be very critical of places I visit. This hotel was truly an enjoyable experience. The hospitality was warm and inviting. The staff was nice and accommodating. Food was very good and equalled that of most 5 star restaurants. I recommend this to anyone looking for a high class getaway at a reasonable rate in the smokey mountains. It a very cozy and small hotel where you can buy a bottle of wine and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking the mountains.

“Great overall”

The rooms were great. We stayed in a room called the "Crow's Nest" and the view was majestic and the room amenities were fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. They have a path that leads to a little private wonderland next to a creek with a TV and stereo equipped pavillion and a hammock right next to the water. Definitely a place to return to!!!
