“Great Value for Money Hotel with excellent location for the Tri-City”

Friendly staff greated us upon arrival, plesant location on the beach front within walking distance of Sopot (20 mins) tram station 10mins. Room altough not 5star was clean and in all of great value

“OUTSTANDING Hotel in all aspects HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by very kind, welcoming staff who spoke English very well. We were given a choice of rooms and chose a room on the 2nd floor as all the rooms above the 5th floor had not been renovated yet. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel overlooking the SPECTACULAR sea view, sandy beach, hotel gardens & tennis courts. The room was large with 2 comfortable single beds, plenty of storage space, fridge freezer stocked with variety of soft & alcoholic drinks, dressing table with mirror & lights and a 21" flat screen lcd which had a local TV channel that played modern English movies every 2 hours. The bathroom was new including bath, shower, towels, shower gel & shampoo. The room was cleaned, carpets hovered, sheets changed every day.The breakfast was available downstairs or brought to your room. It consisted of cold meats, cheeses, cereals, variety of bread, rolls, croissants, pastries, hot scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages, hash browns, polish meat, sliced potatoe chips, tea, coffee & various juices. The recreation area was located on the lower ground floor. Theres a small gym with all the essentials, medium size heated pool graduating from 2m deep to shallow with a sectioned off area for small children with a slide and water toys. Towels are provided by the hotel. The sauna was clean and hot with a shower & cold tub nearby. From here one could take a 1min walk to the beach. The staff are at hand 24/7 to help with anything.

“Primo location right near Gdansk/Sopot beach”

The Novotel at Gdansk seems actually to be much closer to Sopot. Nonetheless who gives a flying rip when you're right next to the beach. We caught a taxi from the main railway station to the Novotel and were actually surprised by the distance involved. It was a good 15-20 minute taxi ride. The hotel is great although in retrospect I wonder if it was a bit out of our league in terms of me and the boys having a bit of a getaway trip. We were travelling round by train and it really did seem like the kind of place you'd take the family in a car. I guess also we were doing Europe on a bit of a budget and the price of the hotel bar put us off eating or drinking there. The pool is great but why swim there when the beach is less than 100m away. I'd have loved to have played on the tennis courts, which are run by a private owner. I emailled the guy and had teed up a time with him, however he wanted me to play later. What's up with that?

“Very nice hotel”

Our trip to Poland did not get off to a good start, as the fellow passengers (mostly Polish)at check-in kept pushing in, we had horrendous turbulance and it was freezing when we landed. It was refreshing to arrive at the hotel to find the staff very helpful and the room exactly as it said on the website. The restaurant was basic, but at least they tried to present some local dishes. Try those and stay away from the pasta withg bacon! Superb soup. The location is conveniently located for exploring the Tricities of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. Sopot has a nice jetty and beachfront restaurants and attractions. Gdynia was quite boring and we only found one part of the waterfront entertaining. Would skip completely and spend more time in Gdansk. The highlight of the region was the Royal mile in Gdansk. Very pretty. As a novelty take the train around to the end of the peninsula to "Hel". Aptly called the train to Hel and back it will at least provide an interesting story.

Beautifully positioned but in urgent need of refurbishment. Breakfast in bed room service very poor. Rooms clean but small. Lovely pool but the changing facilities dating back to communist times. Reception staff never smiled.

“Maltreated”

This is my 3rd revision and despite what I thought I was following Expedia's criteria, apparently the censors asked me to "tweak" my review. So I give up. This is the greated hotel known to mankind, I personally would not go back, but for those who like being maltreated, I strongly recommend you book this hotel. Maybe this will work and finally get it posted.
