    “Wonderful Swiss Experience”

    This is my second time at Edelweiss and would recommend it to anyone. I recommend booking for dinner as the restaurant is popular for non hotel guests, especially on the weekend. Their fondue dinner also features musical entertainment where the performers play a variety of songs and traditional music and even yodeling. The lobby looks like a ski chalet and the rooms are like cozy cabins with modern amenities. Free wi-fi as well.

    “Exceeded expectations - Four Stars”

    Nice Hotel, clean, quiet and comfortable. Swiss chalet atmoshpere. Room was good size, bathroom a bit small, wifi worked well and the restaurant onsite had live entertainment. Sarah, the girl at the front desk was a vision of lovlieness and the essence of Swiss Hospitality. The night man was a bit grumpy (but aren't they all) Location was perfect, traveled with a number of international collegues who stayed at other hotels around the city. Most complained about the noise, the small rooms and the neighborhood, I had none of those issues. I probably paid more for my room than them but it was worth it. Would stay there again.

    Old Town history goes back to the forth century. A walk along the Lake with the Alps in the background is pleasant.

    “Great location, Great Hotel”

    Great location, within a 20-30 minute walking distance to the UN and to old Geneva. Hotel staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel can smell a little like cheese in the evenings because of the fondue in the restaurant. But, our room was great, very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

    “Authentic Swiss experience”

    This beautiful hotel has knotty pine paneling on every wall and hand-painted designs on the armoires. The elevator is TINY and holds only 1 person with luggage. The hotel provides shampoo but no conditioner so bring your own. Traditional Swiss music in the restaurant every evening is very festive but be sure to make reservations and ask for a good seat. This hotel is hard to find from the Rail Station even with a good map. Look for Place de la Navigation and the hotel is nearby. I would stay here again.

    “Homey Hotel”

    Excellent location. Small and personal hotel. Grat restaurant. A true flavor of Geneva.

    “Overall, great”

    Price is comparable to other three stars, but the location of this hotel can't be beat - few blocks from Gare Cornavin, few blocks from the lake. Staff was helpful, providing me with an adapter and calling a taxi at 3am. Only down side was the room was on the small side - not too much bigger than the bed. Also, was a little noisy in the morning, not from the street but from the hallway, being right by the stairs.

    “reasonable hotel. room keys give trouble”

    My main issue with the hotel was that the room keys had big trouble working and the front desk did nothing but ask me to "try multiple times" since the battery needs replacement or something. Otherwise the hotel was well located, interesting looking though a little cramped on space. The restaurant was good and a nice experience.

    “Convenient location, courteous staff and clean accomodations.”

    My wife and I, a close friend plus another couple stayed at the Edelweiss after a ski trip to the French Alps. We were delighted with our newly refinished room as well as the location that is a short walk to the free water taxi to the old cite. A public parking garage is a few block away that has reasonable rates. The Geneva airport is about 20 minutes away. All the staff was very helpful with advice and directions. Our vacation was concluded by a wonderful stay.

    Area recommendations
    The Edelweiss is one block north of the Quai du Mont-Blanc that is a short walk to most of downtown Geneva.
    Must see
    The Jet d'eau is a world class site. Imagine the sight and sound of a column of water shot 500 feet into the air. I can't think of a better use of a megawatt of power.

    “Great touristy hotel”

    The hotel is very much as advertised. Chalet look (wood everywhere - floors, walls, ceilings...). Comfortable room with plenty of closet space. Dining at the on-site restaurant is a must. A rotating duo performs nightly, playing folk classics (including, of course, Edelweiss) using accordian, alpenhorn, bells, harmonica, even spoons! One negative - there was not much sound insulation between floors, so we had one long night waiting for the guests above us to wind down. All in all though, a perfect tourist experience.
