“Come on over Geneva”

My husband and I booked a weekend break as I wanted to get a new watch, we had an excellent time in Geneva, the hotel was top class, food at restaurant was great and so was the atmosphere, I would book the restaurant in advance as it get very busy. The room was better that I thought it would be and very clean with fresh towels and cleaned daily.

“Short but sweet stay”

We stopped at Hotel Edelweiss on a Friday evening towards the end of a 12 day trip to Switzerland. We arrived late following a fabulous fondue dinner at La Gruyerian. The property is in a lively area where there were lots of people out strolling that evening. The hotel is decorated in Swiss chalet style with pine paneling and fresh flowers throughout the small lobby (where there is a computer you can use)and restaurant. The rooms were very clean & comfortable. The bathroom is large and the tub was very long (though narrow) - I was able to stretch out completely for a nice hot soak. Breakfast was not included but they gave us half off coupons as it was the weekend. They had an expansive selection of hot and cold breakfast items at a buffet in the restaurant where a live band had been playing when we arrived the night before. The only inconvenience was parking. We had to find a place on the street and walk a number of blocks after dropping off our bags at the hotel. There may have been a garage closer but our preference was for free parking which we did locate. We checked out after breakfast so were not at the hotel long but would definitely go back.

“Great Hotel - Forget the restaurant”

The hotel was great - for a relatively low price I didn't expect the nice surroundings that greeted me when I arrived. It is built as a chalet style hotel, but the rooms are full of all the comforts you would need. Very comfortable bed with flat screen tv, nice bathroom. We decided to also try the restaurant. While entertaining, the food was not so good - especially for the price.

“Swiss charm”

Walking into Hotel Edelweiss is like walking into "Heidi". It is the quintessential charming Swiss experience. The room was compact but immaculately clean and functional. The staff were freindly and helpful. It is centrally located and in easy walking distance to the train and major attractions.

“can't wait to go back”

first time in Geneva, but it wont be the last time at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was superb. The nightly Swiss folklore show is a must as is the fondue - to die for. Hotel is very well situated, only a few minutes walk from the lake. This hotel definitely made our holiday one to remember

“Great touristy hotel”

The hotel is very much as advertised. Chalet look (wood everywhere - floors, walls, ceilings...). Comfortable room with plenty of closet space. Dining at the on-site restaurant is a must. A rotating duo performs nightly, playing folk classics (including, of course, Edelweiss) using accordian, alpenhorn, bells, harmonica, even spoons! One negative - there was not much sound insulation between floors, so we had one long night waiting for the guests above us to wind down. All in all though, a perfect tourist experience.

“Great loaction and nice hotel”

The hotel was very nice, very clean. The location was good - off the main path just enough for quiet sleep. The only issue was with the smell of cheese from the resturant, but this was only in the lobby and hallways - it did not go into the room. The room itself had a little too much furniture making the room feel cramped a bit - they could take one side chair out to help this. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant, although it looked like a fun time. The staff was very helpful with sightseeing and spoke english very well. The boat tour on the lake was very relaxing.

“Very good choice in overpriced Geneva”

Ask for a room on a higher floor - a great view from our 5-th floor room (I think it was room #563). Amazing location - walk to everything, a block to the river, safe, 8 mins walk to the train station. Very clean and very comfortable room, extremely comfortable bed (though two twin beds put together instead of queen or king), good service. You can open windows - plenty of fresh air. A new comfortable bathroom with everything you may need. We stayed in October so I did not notice whether they have airconditioning - we did not need it. Thermostat was in the room, great temperature control. The breakfast is good, standard for Switzerland, not included, 18 chf. Wireless internet was free , in our room worked only sometimes, but no problem in the lobby plus they have a computer in the lobby if you don't have your laptop. The tea and coffee pot costs extra 10 chf per your stay - this is a bit annoying. A little refrigerator in the room (minibar) is convenient The restaurant is OK but nothing special, good for dinner if you are tired and don't want to walk anywhere. Overall - much better than american hotels I stayed in, real old world comfort.

“Would definately go back again”

We stayed in Geneva for a long weekend. The hotel and it's restaurant were great. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and gave us good advice on places to visit. The Hotel's restaurant was fantastic. We love to go to other countries and experience their traditions and this hotel was extremely swiss! The food was gorgeous (we had fondue!), they had 2 guys yodelling and playing Alpine Horns (Which they then let anyone have a go at - very funny!) The restaurant staff were very relaxed and helpful and there was no rush to get you out and the next lot in. They seem to just have one booking per table per night which was good (but it does get booked up quickly as a result)

“Homey Hotel”

Excellent location. Small and personal hotel. Grat restaurant. A true flavor of Geneva.
