Location: near lake and English garden.
The AC was not working in my room... after 3 phone calls complaining about the problem, they sent me a portable AC which was noisy and didn't cool the room properly. Shower drainage in my room was clogged also sink in reception was clogged. The neighborhood is not good with lots of prostitutes and drug dealers between 7 pm and 7 am. Breakfast very basic. No attached rooms for families. Bathrooms extremely small They gave us free passes to use public transportation for our 1 day stay. close to lake.

Terrible neighborhood, nice hotel, great staff.

Posted Aug 1, 2014
The hotel is in the middle of the worst street in Europe. Prostitutes, drug dealers and shady characters...yes, this is Switzerland today. Once inside the hotel it is fine, very well done. The staff, especially Lucas, are great and make walking past the dangerous outside almost worth it.

Great hotel close to main train station

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Even though the hotel is located near the red light district, it is a very nice and modern hotel. Located within walking distance to the main train station and close to a number of good restaurants. It is also only a breeze walk to the Lake and the surrounding area. Hotel staff is professional and efficient. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. Room is clean, quiet and comfortable. Would recommend to stay here if you're looking for a decent hotel.

close to the station

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: nice staffs. cleanness of hotel. close to the station.
Cons: bigger bathroom
this hotel is close to the station and the lake. bathroom is little small, but it is clean. staffs are very nice, and friendly. this hotel is standing between two streets. one side is safe and the other is not safe in the evening. ( this is what hotel staff told me, then yes, i could see that.) i stayed the hotel only one night, i wish i could stay few more days.

Good value near centre

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: staff friendly
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Nice and central, but near red light so not for family
I have stayed here four times now and do like the hotel as it is central and a good price. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast basic but fine. The room was clean but unfortunately the air conditioning was not working so I had to have the window wide open as it was hot (33c) the time I was there.

Fairly nice hotel for the price in geneva

The hotel Windsor was pretty good overall. The location is quite interesting though, very close and convenient to the main train station and getting to the main sites, but right in the red light district. It can be a little noisy if your room faces rue de Berne and walking to the hotel can be a little unnerving in the evening as there are people partying until the very early hours(7am!) and a steady supply of prostitutes on the corner right across from the hotel. But the hotel itself was quite nice, the staff very friendly and helpful and it had a good breakfast.

The room cleanliness and comfort are just terrible, very small rooms, the TV screen is smaller than my Ipad, barely can walk around the bed, which is a children size. Don't forget your earplugs, as you can hear toilet flush from the other rooms. Staff? Make sure that you charged your patience bar before checking, because you would need a lot to go through the process... If the lady at the front desk doesn't smile at you, don't take it personally, it must be something much more complicated...

The most unfriendly reception staff ever

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: professional, helpful reception staff
Location: easy walk from main train station, short walk to the lake and the old town, good transport connections
From the minute I arrived the receptionist did not make an effort to be pleasant, looked at me as if it was a great effort to be professional, offer very little assistance. The next day, the guy behind the reception was very arrogant and did not bother to at least try and help with some BASIC information, every question was answered with 'I don't know'' or ' Look on the internet ' . Breakfast was ok up to 9:30, after that nothing really to choose from. Location was good, had a very small room on 4th floor but it was ok, noisy road (heard every single conversation from people hanging outside the front door of the hotel).
