“The Mon-Repos Review”
Overall, the hotel is very nice. There are some caveats that need to be detailed and are not described in the description of the hotel. First, the hotel is not in the downtown area of Geneva. When you step off the train, you have a long walk to the hotel (1 - 1.5 miles). If you expect the hotel to be right near the train station (as implied in the hotel description), you will be a bit disappointed. Second, the hotel offers free wi-fi but only in the lobby. There is no Internet in the rooms. If you are ok with doing all your Internet business in the lobby surrounded by others, this won't be an issue. If you are using Skype or VOIP to contact family or clients, this can be an issue. Again, I didn't feel this was well described in the hotel overview. Outside of these two concerns, the hotel was incredibly pleasant. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are quite spacious by European standards. The staff was quite friendly, and they were very helpful in providing information about the surrounding area. The morning breakfast (which is not included in the price of the room) was quite good (albeit a bit expensive - $30.00 (USD)). Overall, a very nice hotel that I can and will recommend to others even with the couple of surprises (location, wi-fi, and breakfast) I found along the way.
