Charming and rustic hotel

Posted Jul 18, 2015
This hotel was right off of I-70 and had great views. My family and I stayed here before hiking Mt. Bierstadt and it met our expectations. The hotel was older but the room was clean. The beds were ok but since we were only staying one night and waking up early to get to the mountain we didn't mind. It shared a parking lot with a restaurant which was convenient for wanting to get to bed early. Overall it met our expectations for being in a small mountain town and I would stay there again.

The gentleman greeting us was exceptionally nice

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Pros: Very helpful and nice person at the reception
Cons: Please see comments above
Location: Well located ... walking distance to "historical area"
Customer Service : "out of the way" to get us 1st floor room (heavy suitcases) and wine glasses for the room. Room OK - cleanliness.... very average and NO SHAMPOO IN THE ROOM - needs to request in the office...

Too much waste if we do put shampoo in the rooms. Most people bring their brands. Between 7 AM and 10 PM guests can always drop by or call the front desk to ask for what they need. Dan

so so hotel

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: see above
Location: close enough to go to Red Rocks for concert.
good location, but air conditioner work poorly and too many bright lights outside window to leave shade open at night to cool room off. snack in morning was a package of premade muffins with trans fats. Of course they ran out as well. there were smokers every where outside of rooms, at least 8 on the days we were there. Pillows were rock hard.

Had you come to me or my employees with any of your concerns, we would have been happy to take care of them. I purposely do not over load the muffin tray so I can avoid waste and keep them fresh. I am always in or near the lobby in the mornings. The muffins and drinks are served from 7 to 11 am Colorado time.

Needs update in the worst way

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: Close to interstate.
Cons: Sheets were pretty yellowed. Decor. Carpet.
Location: Location okay was within walking distance to the downtown area.
Carpet so bad I couldn't walk on it without shoes. Dirty and very worn. Decor outdated. This was the most expensive place I stayed on my 6 day visit to Co. And feel it was by far the worst. Mattress very soft.

All carpet was replaced less than a year ago and the sheets are pretty new. I or my staff would have been happy to let you try a different room and address your concerns had you bothered to ask.

Great experience.

Pros: I like the fact that this is not a "chain" hotel. Feels like family.
Cons: Wish the bathroom had a fan but other than that, was a great room.
Location: Hiking, steam train, close to slopes, great shopping & food options. Super easy access off I70 but feels like you are far away.
Great private hotel that feels homey and comfortable. Very clean. Nice for a family to stay together in the large room with extra beds in the room. Love the town of Georgetown so is a perfect location not too far from Denver but in an quant mountain town.

Disapointing

Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: good location
Cons: see above
Location: Georgetown is a wonderful town, with the preserved railway. We recomend The Happy Cooker for breakfast.
On arrival,we were greeted with indifference, but not rudely. The room as advertised was rustic beams which were not conducive to comfort despite that, it was adequate. The breakfast was a contravention of the trade description act. I nor my wife consider 2 small muffins and a luke warm beverage to be classed as breakfast.

We don't advertise breakfast at all. When asked, we do say we offer coffee, muffins, juice and hot water for tea or hot chocolate - which meets the true definition of Continental Breakfast.

Non-corporate comfortable hotel.

Posted Apr 17, 2015
While this is not the Ritz Carlton, the room was large and had the feel of a cabin. The staff was very friendly--they even gave us a room with a third bed at no charge. There is a good restaurant right next door too. I would go back.

Fun in the Rockies!

We enjoyed our trip; the hotel was very conveniently located and they allowed our dog to come with us. Pleasant surprise to find both a microwave and refrigerator in our room when we arrived. We will be staying there again.
