Last minute stay

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: It's clean and comfortable. Location is A as well. I walked everywhere!
Cons: Quite frankly, if I was the owner/manager, I would seriously put my efforts to jazz up the small reception area, coffee/breakfast area and BATHROOM.
We decided last minute to get away for the weekend so we went online and got the room for a very reasonable price. I was surprised because for the rate, this is a Very cute place and nice room. As long as you avoid using the bathroom in the office/lobby area, you are just fine! The bar/restaurant next door makes your stay even better. And the town and lake are adorable! Please visit!

Mountain Inn of Georgetown

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Painting touchups. Better coffee bar and morning snacks
Location: Beautiful location near trails and cafe. Just outside main part of town. Explore the town but most places open and close late and early respectively.
Comfy but very dated. Antique TV, Minimum room necessities, Many little repairs needed around the place. Place could have a lot of charm to match the area.

Cute mountain getaway

Posted Jul 28, 2014
I had a great stay here. It is close to many mountain attractions, but also not too far from Denver. The rooms have a mountain lodge feel, and the pool and hot tub were great amenities. The free wi-fi was a plus, too!

Lauren, Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for pointing out the proximity to Denver. So many Mountain towns, activities and resorts are also within an hour. Not many hotels in our price range and market area (Summit, Grand, Clear Creek, and Jefferson counties) have an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub. Thanks again and please visit again. Dan

Convenient Location

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, all the necessary amenities, definitely not a chain.
Cons: The bathroom was a little worn out.
Location: Shopping, restaurants, a park, nice places to walk, convenient to Devil's Gate Station on the Georgetown Loop.
Wish we could have stayed longer. The location is easy to find and convenient walking distance from most everything in Georgetown.

Road trip...beyond Denver on 70

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Clean, pretty comfortable. Quiet.
Cons: Hot tub could be open until 10 instead of 9.
Location: They have coffee and a muffin there, but for a great breakfast and lovely surroundings, go to The Happy Cooker in town.
Unique place off 70 in a very unique little town. Priced right for what you get.

Best pre race night of sleep I have ever had!

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: It was appropriately priced for its amenities and very conveniently located in town.
Cons: The interior is outdated but the best night sleep we have had in hotel in a long time.
We stayed at the hotel the night preceding a race the next day. The Alpine restaurant across the parking lot was great and it was the best night sleep we have had in a hotel in ages. It was so nice and quiet. Now is it the Four Seasons? No! But it was a very pleasant night stay in a quaint little mountain town.

Great place. Very western & nostalgic.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The rustic simplicity and ambience.
Cons: The hot tub could use an update!
Location: Historic Georgetown is like traveling back in time. The train & mine tour is the attraction along its downtown.
After doing the Georgetown train and mines tour, this motel with its rustic furniture & charm was the icing on the cake! We had a party of 5 with 3 kids in their 20's and they loved it!

Room with,rustic charm.

Staff was very friendly. Carpet is new! Log bed cute and comfortable though pillows a little flat. Room clean except for some small pieces of hair in the tub. No soap on sink and only one cup. The ice bucket had a plastic bag in it like it had been used already. The tub surround was in bad shape, had a very long crack down the center. A light bulb was burned out and a lampshade was ripped. The log chairs in room aren't very comfortable but I don't stay in a hotel to hang out in the room, it's somewhere to sit for a moment if I need to.. I didn't call and ask for soap or cup but I felt confident that my concerns would have been addressed. I didn't hear noise from other guests but I don't know if anyone was staying in a room right next to ours. I would stay here again.

Hi Lorrie, Thank you for the review and for being gracious about the missed things. As you mentioned, we just put new carpeting in all rooms and frankly I'm exhausted and stretched thin from the longer days/focus caused by that project, and all the other work we have been doing. We've had a very short window of time to get stuff done because of the weather and because there has been not much gap between seasons. There are many maintenance items we will be doing shortly. Most noticeable to guests will be replacing the tub surrounds in about 5 bathrooms. A lot of re-caulking and re-grouting as well, Whew. While there was not anybody staying on either side of you, we did just do and are doing between room (and between adjoining door in those few rooms that have adjoining doors# sound dampening. Additionally, the high quality carpet and padding we are using in all rooms will be a plus for comfort and sound dampening. As a result of blowing in insulation between walls, our wallpapered rooms have suffered on appearance and we will also be addressing that issue very soon. Again, thank you so much for being gracious while we do tens of thousands of dollars in maintenance and upgrades. And, yes we are happy to bring soap, shampoo. extra pillows... as needed.(I have not yet talked to the owner about more new pillows.) Dan

Emergency stop

Posted May 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were stuck when the interstate shut down due to weather and the hotel was very accommodating. They were also friendly, quick to answer request, and professional. The hotel was clean and nice. It was old and didn't have a lot if plug ins for our electronic devices. Over all I would give it a 4 1/2 out of 5.

Loud, but did the job

Posted Apr 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Other than the stomping at 5:30am, and the fact that you can hear EVERYTHING, this was fine. Not that they could control the stomping, but still, it was part of the experience. The breakfast was nothing special (muffins and juice), so we just ate at another place in Georgetown, which was good actually. Don't expect a luxury continental breakfast here. There is an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub, but I didn't end up using those. The room was fine, except the beds weren't very comfortable. There was nothing visibly dirty, but it didn't exactly give off that "clean" feeling. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay that's by a bunch of ski resorts, this will do the trick.

Hi J-man, I'm glad it did the job. Guests can call the front desk 24/7 and I will confidentially ask people to be quiet. Also, our quiet time begins at 10PM and we don't allow excessive noise, and enforce both policies. To improve the clean feeling and help with the noise transference, we are installing new carpet in all the rooms this coming weekend. It will include thick padding, and sound dampening gluing. I wish we could have re-carpeted sooner, but revenues did not allow until recently. Also, we had planned to install new carpet last fall, but the guys were swamped with work from all the Summer flood Colorado experienced. We have just finished blowing in insulation into all the strategically needed walls between rooms to help with sound dampening (note I am not and cannot say sound proofing). We are also in the process of insulating between the doors of all the rooms that have adjoining doors. Unfortunately, a few rooms have wall paper and the wall paper now needs work after being moved to blow in the insulation. Lastly, on the cleanliness/maintenance/functionality issues I have let a laundry person and a housekeeper go on to greener pastures and am deploying my staff a bit differently to make sure all is well. Thank you so much for your business. Dan
