Poor Start but Good EndPosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: It was comfortable with a good view over the river.
Cons: The damp smell in the bedroom.
Location: Kampinski house is worth seeing. Walking self guided tour of the historic houses. Walk the boardwalk. Hotel 5 minute drive from the centre.
We were booked in for three nights and originally given a room on the ground floor next to the lift shaft with an enclosed service run in the ceiling. Two minutes in the room and we knew it would not suit us as the lift was noisy and the pipes above our head were permanently making a running water sound. Reception immediately moved us to the second floor when we said we were not happy. That room overlooked the river and as in previous comments we had read about the hotel there was a damp smell but no sign of any damp in the room which was spacious and comfortable. We returned from our first day out to find the room had not been serviced and when we queried this with the front desk they were very apologetic and offered to send up clean towels etc. We didn't make an issue about it as we are not unable to make a bed but they rang back 10 minutes later and said they were refunding that night's stay in full which was very good of them. The breakfast was a self service buffet and in very pleasant surroundings. There was plenty of choice with hot and cold options and the tea/coffee facilities were available 24/7 as well as having tea and coffee available in the room.

Great place at reasonable pricePosted May 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was exactly as it was billed. Clean rooms reasonable price a stone's throw from the Georgetown Marina. All in all I would recommend to others.

Nice hotel, loved view of Marina. Quiet location.Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: Quiet, location, view, location of restaurant adjacent to property is a plus.
Cons: Ran out of parking spaces. free breakfast was nice had bagels;no cream cheese (x2 days)too long to refill eggs. Offer scrambled! Keep up with need!
Location: Location was good!!10 mins from Pawley's. Downtown waterfront nice n nice dining. Did not have much time in evenings to do much.
Came to this area to avoid the congestion of bike week in Myrtle Beach to attend a wedding at Pawley's Island. Wanted to stay somewhere I had never been befure ; Georgetown.

High standardPosted Apr 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
Pleasant welcome from helpful lady on reception. She also made delicious cookies and gave us info about the area. Cannot think of anything that would give me any reason to mark this stay any lower than the highest mark.

Noisy 1st floor hotelPosted Apr 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very nice overall but our room was on the first floor number 113 and you heard the elevator going up and down all night long, and water running thru the walls. For the price we paid I would not recommend a room close to the elevators.
