“You probably don't deserve a mini-resort this nice.”

If I thought the managers of this place could stay open without additional patronage, I wouldn't list them. It can fill up quickly. They offer so much for the price that it's easy to forget that they are the only good option in Georgetown anyway. My wife keeps thanking me for our recent stay, despite the frigid weather outside. Georgetown is a wonderful place to spend a few days anytime of year. Just leave us a slot for the Christmas season.

Dining

Thr hotel provides a great day starter right in your room. But you can burn a lot of calories in the winter so we go for a late breakfast downtown. There's only one true breakfast place, just follow the crowd or ask. We love the great german fare at the Euro for lunch and dinner.

“Would return in a heartbeat!”

It was a wonderful experience. See notes above. P.S. We would really enjoy returning just the 2 of us for a romantic getaway.

Area recommendations

This is a small town of 1,100 with quaint Victorian homes and a wonderful shopping area. It is near hiking trails, especially some Fourteeners. This was our base for our son to hike 4 of them. Very friendly and relaxing area. We really want to return. It is only 1 hour from Denver International.

“"Would highly recommend"”

Driving up to the hotel my first impression was of a charming, quaint chateau in the French alps. How wonderful it was to experience that same warm comforting feeling through out our stay. The hotel was first class from the hot tub to the complimentary glass of wine and everything in between. We had a very memorable experieince and would highly recommend Hotel Chateau Chamonix to any and everyone.

You must experience the Euro Cafe in Georgetown. Excellent food and ambiance.

“Fabulous hotel!”

A beautiful new hotel with many amenities. Easy walking distance to the historic district and quaint shops as well as Georgetown Lake. You can look for Big Horn sheep from the wrap around deck- telescope provided! Unfortunately we did not see any... A great property!!

“We will return”

Our creekside room was lovely and did not look like your run of the mill hotel. It had a lovely balcony overlooking the creek. There could have been better selection on the TV channels. There was no real movie channel and that would have been nice, but the room was spotless and ambiance in the lobby and upstairs lobby was lovely.

Traveler's tip

There are few restaurants in Georgetown, but the Euro Grill was fine. Idaho Springs is closeby and there are more restaurants there.
