Pros: Close to Town
Cons: Hire a new cleaning lady and desk clerk.
Waited 20 min. for desk clerk when checking in. I could have robbed the place. no one at desk but door was opened. Found pubic hair on toilet from previous guests, clean bath towels were damp. Would never stay there again.

Nice older motel close to Gettysburg..Posted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Clean, comfortable and the price was right.
Cons: The only thing we missed were plastic cups. I know that sounds ridiculous, but when it came time to take medicine and brush our teeth, we needed cups
Location: The motel has a Gettysburg address, but is out of town. However, it is close enough to get to all the tourist attractions with no trouble.
This was an older motel from the late 50s or 60s, I would guess. The lady in the office was very friendly, the room we had was clean and very nice. We were in the country with a landscape view in the back. We had asked for two beds, which were very comfortable. There was no hairdryer, coffee maker, etc. - items you might find in a much newer motel, but we had a phone, television, towels, microwave, refrigerator and comfort. The room was paneled with knotty pine and very nice. The price was right - all the motels in the town of Gettysburg were quite high. If you are just looking for a nice place to sleep, this is it.

Our stay was not very good due to our room had the early 1970's look plus the place was very dirty. I would never stay there again!

Nice little place close to GettysburgPosted Jul 31, 2013
Cons: Coffee makers in the room :)
This is an older "motor court" type motel, but it is clean, nice, and a good place to stay if you just need a place to sleep. Our room had a mini frige and microwave which was great. Cheaper than in Gettysburg and not far from the town/battlefield. We will stay there again next year if we attend the Roots Festival (we are NOT campers!).

Away from everythingPosted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: Being away from the center of town
Location: About 4 miles from Gettysburg but there is alot to see in the National Park and downtown
Blue Sky was out and away from the middle of Gettysburg which was what I wanted. It worked out well as a base to go sightseeing in Gettysburg but still have peace and quiet at night

You get what you pay for. This hotel was clean, neat, and the staff was nice. There was no chocolate on the pillow--but thats not what I needed the room for. We spent time in Gettysburg and it was close enough to travel back & forth for the weekend, while giving us a comfortable, clean place to shower and sleep.

When I checked in the office scared me as it was very dirty. The room was clean, but the windows were dirty. The matress was great. The bathroom should have its battered trim removed and better flooring. The white towels were gray from age. Glad I was there to relax. The lawn was mowed by the landscaping needed some attention.

Blue Sky motelPosted Oct 24, 2012
Nice classic family owned motel, a quaint "trip back" in motel history. Beds could be a little more comfortable. Friendly helpful staff.

Outdated, not the most comfy, but does the jobPosted Oct 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
My friends and I decided to go with this motel because it was basically half the price of all the options in the heart of Gettysburg in October. I felt that we paid too much for what we got. The outside of the motel, and the area it is in, are quaint and quiet. I like that there was a swing set, bench swings, and picnic tables in the front. As for the room, it was rather outdated (e.g. the bathtub has that permanently stained look, there are stains on the walls, etc). The room was also rather tiny. The only basics that were provided in the room were: an ice bucket, towels (which felt very rough), soap bars, a phone, and a tv. We couldn't get our heat/A/C to work the first night, but for some reason it worked the second night. The beds were not the most comfortable but weren't terrible either. The woman at the front desk was very friendly. Overall, my stay wasn't terrible, but I'd probably opt for a different place to stay.
