“Chambersburg Travelodge”

Not a bad motel. Older building that could use some renovations, but if you are looking for a place to sleep, it is clean, everything worked, and the management and personnel were friendly and helpful. Additionally, the attached restaurant was a nice mom-and-pop place with some fun management. Overall, I would consider this hotel to be a good value for the normal rate. If it is a holiday weekend when they raise their rates, you can do better for the money.

Good affordable motel: helpful staff, quiet, few frills but great free breakfast at restaurant next-door.

I have no negative issues with my stay. Price was very good in comparison to other places to stay and the morning breakfast was a good touch.

“Good economical motel - comfortable bed”

My motel room faced the business/truck route 30 and I could hear much loud truck noises very early in the morning. Otherwise, I had a comfortable night's rest followed by a free, home-cooked breakfast.

“Hotel fine, don't bother w/free breakfast”

The hotel was fine but they give you vouchers to eat at the diner next door. Do not bother. Service is slow, attitude of the staff is horrible and the food is bland. Save time and head to the Waffle House instead.

Very poor condition, both inside and out. Unclean, and facilities within the room were not well maintained. Grossly misrepresented in ratings and features!

“WOULD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN”

The Travelodge was hard to locate. It is an older motel with only outside access. The lobby or front desk area is clutter and the manager on duty was not at the desk when I arrived. The elevator was accessible from the parking lot and smelled horrible. I purchased lysol spray and that didn't help at all even though I sprayed the elevator several times. The room was drafty and you could see light under the door. The door to the balcony was also drafty and with a 50 mph wind blowing through the area during my stay the room remained cold. The free breakfast was in a very small little restaurant located on the premises which was frequented by many locals. The staff took care of them first and seemed to ignore those who stayed at the motel. I would not recommend this motel to anyone staying in Chambersburg even if the price was the most affordable in the area.

“If you like good hospitality this hotel is not for you!”

The hotel clerk at night was rude but the room was roomy and somewhat comfortable. The door to the room didn't shut properly unless slammed.

“Makes Travelodge look bad”

This place was filthy on the outside. The outdoor walkways smelled like rotten meat, and it was obvious that people were living in squalor in the rooms. The proprietor gave us the wrong room key so we ended up walking into an occupied room. Once we got into our room, it smelled strongly of heavy cleaning supplies, and none of the doors hung right in their frames. We asked for a double room, but were given a single, and told that a cot (a cot!) would cost an extra, outrageous fee per night. The neighborhood is run down, and the hotel is not nearly as close to Gettysburg as Expedia makes it out to be. I don't usually write reviews, but this is legitimately the worst hotel experience I've ever had, and I hope to save others from going through it.
