“Low quality for a high price”

There were cobwebs thru out the hotel, the cold water didn't work in our bathroom sink (nothing would come out), limited TV channels, everyone at the front desk acts like the just started on the job 25 minutes prior and the person next to us had a large dog that barked a majority of the day. The front desk would only say "we are a pet friendly hotel". They may be pet friendly but this place is not people friendly. This hotel was by no means the cheapest I looked at but it should have been. Either spend more money and get something a lot nicer or spend less and get the same type of quality elsewhere.

“Not a good experience”

We had bugs in our room! We saw three total. One almost crawled on our son's head, it was on his pillow. We called the main office and they said they had a "stinkbug problem" and that it was common in hotels in Gettysburg. We could hardly sleep, we were too freaked out! There were dead stinkbugs in the corners by the vents, too. Gross!

“Great deal!”

If you go to Gettysburg, make sure you go on the weekend of Remembrance day! The hotel service was outstanding and the accomodations were adequate.

“Laurie Gettysburg 2010”

Very nice, we usually stay closer to town but this was nice and I would go back again. The breakfast area is small and was always crowded so we ate out.

“Not the best in Gettysburg”

Stayed in Gettysburg in June and booked thru Expedia and had a great experience. This time was the pits.

“Good food, good locations”

This Comfort Inn was within walking distance to downtown Gettysburg, but also sat just on the outskirts so you weren't surrounded by all the hustle and bustle. It was very nice and comfortable and the breakfast was great!

Getting there

The only downfall is having to take the Pennsylvania Turnpike! Don't go in the middle of the night! Eat at the Dobbin House and order the French Onion Soup! Best I've ever had!

“Not good.”

One of the reasons that I chose this hotel was the swimming pool. My 7 year old was more interested in the pool then the battlefield! Unfortunately for him, the pool was so filthy that I couldn't let him go in. The water was murky, things were floating, there were clumps of ?????? In the water. It was bad! The staff lip service about the issue and nothing more.

Must see

Take the guided bus tour at the begining of your visit. It is excellent and helps you decide where to stop on your own later. The house where Lincoln stayed was a let down for me. The NPS has made it look more like a highway service plaze then a 200 year old home
