Nice hotel in center of town

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: The towels seem a little old and have a musty smell to them like they've been put away damp. The towels should be bleached or replaced
Location: Hotel is located very close to restaurants and the ghost tours. It's just a short drive to the museum
The hotel is very nicely renovated and right in the center of town. Employees were very helpful and pleasant. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and it is just a short drive to the museum.

Pros: The staff and location
Cons: Blackout shades needed
Location: Delicious food at FOOD 101 down the street
Great staff, spoke to several hotel employees and found each to be friendly and approachable. The location was nice as it was close to many shops and restaurants/cafes. The rooftop pool was fun but I was wondering why the hotel didn't make it look more inviting or resort-like. My husband didn't find the bed comfortable and I thought blackout shades should be installed (sheer drapes make the room too bright when the exterior lights are on). We enjoyed our time here - thanks Gettysburg Hotel.

Very convenient location.

This a wonderful hotel if you want to stay in the town center. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were small, but given the history of this 218 year old hotel, it was understandable. Over all, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in town, and experience everything this beautiful town has to offer.

Nice Hotel very close to all the main activities

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Center of the action in Gettysburg once you were parked in the hotel lot, it was convenient to walk to all the attractions you did not have to drive.
Cons: They could open up to provide room service for food and beverage.
Location: The location is excellent, you are center city all the attractions and resturants are near by in walking distance we never drove our car to any place
Our experience was great; the overall Hotel was very clean and very nice, really high-class. Our room was a VIP Suite with a Jacuzzi, the room was nice and clean the furniture and such was high quality but one bad issue was the bed sheets had hair embedded in the sheets from guests in the past. Not sure what the issue was maybe they do not clean out the washing machines after each wash but once brought to the attention of hotel management they took swift action and corrected the issue ASAP and it never happened again. For this issue the hotel manager gave us free breakfast and a free night off the bill. Another issue was when we tried to order food from the hotel restaurant for take-out our question was do they provide room service and can the restaurant deliver the food to our room for us and the hotel desk said sometimes they do and the desk transferred me to the restaurant and when they answered the woman who answered the phone only said hello and did not identify herself or if it was the restaurant. I asked if this was the restaurant and she said "oh yeah" and I asked if they do room service she said "No oh I’m not sure hold on" she put me on hold and never came back on the line, I hanged the phone up. I told the management of this bad experience and again they quickly resolved the issue by providing us free breakfast in our room which was great on their part. The managment is great at the Gettysburg Hotel they fix any problem fast and made our stay excellent!

Comfortable, clean and quiet. Lots of things to see and do steps from hotel. Only thing I missed was mini fridge for our food. Would totally stay there again.

Price didn't meet expectations

Posted Jun 12, 2015
This was our first visit to Gettysburg, paid a lot for an average room. Not the cleanest but it was quiet, the restaurant had a very good breakfast and location was great! The staff didn't go out of their way to assist you and weren't very friendly.
