“Our Stay...”

I don't want to bash this hotel in any way... even though our room could have been cleaner. The staff at this hotel were amazing. The woman managing the front desk was thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. We were in town at short notice for a funeral... I wasn't impressed at first but the staff would make me return.

“Awful room”

Thee room we had was filthy-told the lady at front desk-she "upgraded" our room to a king size suite. The bed was king size but same dirty carpet,gray sheets,pillows that were almost totally flat-I had to go buy new bedding just so we could lay on the bed. We had to wear shoes in room-I was afraid to go barefoot on the carpet.Continental breakfast consisted of a loaf of bread for toast,mini chocolate donuts,a can of instant oatmeal or cheerios; coffee was offered til 10 AM.There was no fruit-no juice.We would have stayed anywhere else if there was any availability

“very nice”

Can't beat the price. Nice hot tub and small pool. Also had a light breakfast. Very clean.

“Gettyburg's Motel 6”

Had to stay here because it was, almost literally, the last room in town on a very busy October weekend in Gettysburg. (NOTE: If you're traveling to GB in the fall, book early!) I was accustomed to staying much nearer the park, so the location of this motel wasn't much fun. OK, so it's a Motel 6 so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. But here are my grumbles: the front desk staff had to find answers to any local questions re restaurants, tours, etc.; the towels were threadbare, very rough, and not plentiful; the bathroom floor seemed clean but in disrepair; there was no in-room coffee machine; the hallways smelled of mildew and old smoke; the breakfast consisted of two kinds of dry cereal, milk that wasn't cold enough, and white bread for toast. On the positive side, there were extra pillows and the AC cooled the room quickly. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it, especially to first-time Gettysburg visitors. Do yourself a favor -- book early and near the visitors center.

“Will not go back”

Extremely disappointed in the hotel in general. Location off the beaten path. Older hotel in need of updates. Bathroom looked like it had not been updated since 1960. Towels were very worn out and scratchy.No fan in bathroom. No coffee maker in room. Tv was not working properly, could not make out picture very dark.. Ice maker on bottom floor only. Swimming pool unclean. Elevator very old and quite a bumpy ride for two floors. And there ws a smell in the lobby as soon as you walked in. Windows need to be cleaned. If we could have found an alternate hotel we would have left. But, it was friday night in Gettysburg. Nothing available..

Area recommendations

Close to center of town. Near Jenny Wade house or close to battlefield would be perfect! You would be able to park your car and everything would be in walking distance.

Must see

Visitor Center. Beautiful and museum tells a grat story.

“Fit the bill”

Great rate. Check in took less than a minute. Super clean room, very nice helpful staff. Check out, no problems. Will definately stay again.

Area recommendations

Defiantely try the new haunted Farnsworth house. 15 mins of your time for $5, $100 worth of fun! Warning: Super scary, no joke!

“Satisfactory”

This hotel is clean and well kept. If you're looking for a place to sleep and shower at a decent rate, this place works just fine. No problems during my stay. Will stay again when back in town.

“Clean, but bare minimum hotel”

THis hotel is nicely located close to Gettysburg College. It is within walking distance of the square, and several great resturants. It is not in the most historic section of the town, but it serves its purpose for a visit when you are not intending to spend much time in the hotel. The rooms are clean, but you will get your bare basics. THey recently added mini-fridges which is helpful when travelling, but you get minimal towels, they will be small, and the rooms won't be anything to look at. But, it is CLEAN. and in my opinion, that trumps the decorations of a hotel.

Area recommendations

Most definately go to the Pub or Blue Parrot Bistro for a meal. There are a lot of great events and themed weekends going on, so check ahead especially in the fall. Most of the major tour buses give free admission to Gburg College Students with a vailid student ID and the Freedom Trolley is a great (and cheap) way to navigate the area!
