Thank you for the review! While we are also looking forward to when the construction is complete, there are detour signs. Hope to see you again soon!

Hotel is a fine place to stay for a brief stay.

Posted Nov 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel rooms were nice. The staff was friendly. However, there was no elevator and one of the people traveling with me has COPD and has difficulty with stairs. I was told that because I booked the rooms on Hotel.com that I couldn't change the reservation to first floor rooms for my friend and me. I will never use Hotel.com again. I didn't realize that when I gave a credit card to reserve the room that the rooms would be charged to my credit card. I had intended to pay cash when I got there and found that the rooms had already been charged to my card. I was not happy.

Thank you for your stay with us. It is possible to book a first floor room in advance, but when booking online through a third party site you must be very careful to book the correct type of room. Hope to see you again!

Non-football weekend in Gettysburg

Posted Nov 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
We were an empty lot from the Soldier's National Cemetary and within very short walking distance of Jennie Wade's House, Dobbin House, Farnsworth House, and the Orphanage. Even a walk to Lincoln Square was about 15 minutes. The shower was hot with good water pressure and breakfast was cooked by several motherly and grandmotherly figures. Aside from the one-way construction in front of the hotel and the hot tub being out of order at the time, it was a surprisingly good stay. The front desk even offered use of the hot tub at their sister hotel across the street if we wanted.

Average hotel right next to the battlefield

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: The pillows were very uncomfortable, no support to them. Also, I would consult with the hotel about a refrigerator/microwave being in the room.
Location: Lots of food options and tourism things to do. Plus you are literally a block from the battlefield.
The room was nice for the price. The continental breakfast was average, but what I expected. I was told on Expedia that the room I booked had a refrigerator and microwave which caused a bit of a challenge for some of the items I brought. This hotel is in a good location and only about 5 minutes from downtown Gettysburg. Overall it was a great price and an acceptable hotel.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry for the room change, however, we did call you before you arrived to check it would be ok to move to a room without a microwave and refrigerator. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip and we look forward to hosting you the next time you're in town!

Nice Stay

The only issue is that the Breakfast Cottage does not provide enough table space for the number of guests.

Thank you for your stay! We offer double the amount of required seating for a property of our size, however, during the peak breakfast hour it can get a bit crowded. Our Victorian breakfast cottage was built in 1880 so it offers quite a bit of character and a different experience than what you find at other hotels. Hope to see you again!

hotel amenities

Was disappointed to check in and find out the lounge was closed, hot tub was closed and woke up to construction outside my room. I booked this hotel because of the hot tub and lounge out of others I looked at. Booked two rooms felt I should of gotten credit for at least one. Got in early evening and wanted to enjoy a drink and not have to leave hotel.

The Reliance Mine Saloon is open daily except Sunday at 6pm. We are very sorry the hot tub was out of order during your stay. We do have a new hot tub on order, and we just waiting for it to be delivered.
