Pros: The hotel was located in a good spot for the sightseeing that we did. It was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was also good.
Cons: Just make sure the internet works right away in the rooms.
Location: It was near Gettysburg, as well as many restaurants. We had no trouble finding our way around.
The staff were helpful. The only downside was that we had trouble connecting to the internet in our room. It was late at night when we first tried to do this, so we didn't contact the staff about it, but in the morning I mentioned it to the front desk. They were able to fix it for us right away.

Below expectations.

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: It was available on a busy weekend.
Cons: See notes under Our Experience.
Location: That was the saving grace for this hotel. It was a couple miles from downtown Gettysburg.
The elevator was out of order the entire time of our stay. The rooms were not soundproof at all. As a matter of fact, we could hear the person in the room next door sneezing, as loudly and clear as if he was in our room. Although we prepaid, we were asked to provide our credit card number to account for "incidentals". What incidentals? There weren't even vending machines to get a cold soda.

Thank you for sharing your expereince with us. However we are not used to receiving reviews such as this. I am very sorry for the inconvience of the elevator being down. However it was somenthing that was out of our control. A part had to be ordered and sent overnight because the elevator company did not have the part in stock. However we did have staff on hand to offer help in carring luggage for all of our arriving and departing guests. I feel that we did all that we could to try and help as much as possiable. Aslo you mentioned your credit card for incidentals, this is our policy and we do have people that do incur enincedentials such as tour tickets, etc. All though our soda and snacks which our located on 3 of our 4 floors would not be considered incedentals we do have them. We go above and beyond for our guests to esure a comfortable and pleasant stay. I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Sincerely, Tamra Heston General Manager

Easy location

Hotel was not close to the battlefield and other sights but there were enough food places close by. Not a difficult place to find or get in and out of when going places.

Excellent value for money

Pros: Value for money
We only stayed for one night. The hotel has been renovated shortly, it looks nice and very clean. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was included. We didn't expect much and it was ok: cereals, eggs, bacon, bread, jelly, donuts, yoghurts and fresh waffles or pancakes.

Friendly staff, good breakfasts, good value.

Although I would have liked to be right in town, the hotel was better than expected. I guess since it was only 2 miles to town it wasn't bad.

Hotel staff tries hard, but hotel has problems

Posted Aug 28, 2014
My room had a strong smell of cigarettes, even though it was a non-smoking room. While I sat in the lobby, I noticed another guest complain to the front desk about his room smelling of cigarettes. This seems to be a trend at this hotel. Overall the room was pleasant, the beds were very comfortable, but my bathroom was small, dark, and had water/mold stains on the floors and walls. I was told the hotel was renovated about 8 years ago, but it needs another one. I got a good rate on Expedia, but otherwise I would never spend good money on this hotel given the many hotel options in Gettysburg.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am very sorry to hear that your room smelled of smoke. We do not allow smoking in our hotel and we actually charge $250.00 if someone does smoke in the hotel. Our housekeeping team also takes great care in cleaning a room that was smoked in...everything is removed and washed, shampooed, steamed cleaned and a special air purifier is put into the room. This is not a trend in our hotel at all and we do not take it lightly if a guest smokes in the building. Our hotel was renovated and is in the process of more renovations. We do hope that when back in Gettysburg you will return to our hotel so we can show you how great we really are. Thank you again.

Nice hotel and friendly staff, at first. Stayed there four days. On thursday our room was not serviced. I had to go to the front desk to get towels. On Saturday we went out for the morning and when we returned the bed was stripped of linen. We went back out for a couple hours and when we returned the room was in the same condition. I had to go to the front desk and request the room be serviced. The attendant said that she was pulled off of cleaning our room and sent to another room (for several hours). When I arrived by myself the front desk clerk was very friendly, smiled and said hello everytime I went past. When my girlfriend arrived the smile and greeting disappeared and we were pretty much ignored by some of the staff. It appears that someone on the staff does not like interracial couples staying at their hotel and provided the type of service that would ensure our non-return. They succeeded, we will stay elsewhere on our visits to Gettysburg.

Thank you for telling us about your stay. I have to say though I was really shocked to hear the things you wrote about interracial couples. I can assure you that is not the case. And I'm sorry that you feel that way. Our staff is very friendly all of the time. I have never had such comments about any of our staff. I do not know why your room took so long to clean. I can only imagine at this point that we had someone waiting to check in early and we were doing our best to please all guests, however we feel short on getting your room cleaned in a timely manner. Thank you again for your review.

Nice Place

This hotel is so well maintained we thought it was new, not 7 years old. The staff was very personable. Easy in-room internet access. Tiny pillows. Breakfast was less than average.
