“Great for a Night”
Gettysburg was very busy this weekend, and this was the only room we could find for the Friday night of our weekend conference. we were really pleasantly surprised with the facility. Management called shortly after check-in to see if all was okay. The lights- all but one- were burned out or not working, but for our time there it was okay with us. The continental breakfast was just fine! All in all, this hotel would be recommended for an overnight stay .... especially when no other rooms are available.
“No Problems”
We had no problems during our visit. It was chilly outside and the being able to adjust the room temperature made it very cozy. The breakfast was enjoyable and had the basic items (bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, waffle iron, etc.). It was not crowded, which was nice, probably because we went in the fall, rather than summer. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful!
“Clean and comfortable”
Clean and comfortable hotel, prepaying for the room was the best part, i was in and out with no hassles
“Had a nice stay. Would return and stay at this hotel again”
It is a nice hotel
“Very nice for the price”
I got a special deal through Expedia for this trip and only paid a low fee for two nights. The Super 8 had very big clean rooms, super friendly staff, and a really good breakfast compared to other hotels. It is a bit out of the way from the "action" in Gettysburg. Lots of close restaurants and shopping (Walmart and Peebles) but you need to drive to get to the heart of town. During the summer months you may find parking hard to find in the city so it would be better to stay in a closer hotel but if you've done the Gettysburg thing before and like to do a bit more exploring around town then the Super 8 works very well. I chose the Super 8 specifically because it had an indoor pool. They had just re-painted the pool area and refilled so the pool itself was too cold to get in but the hot tub was perfect. The pool area isn't the nicest I've seen but it was clean and quiet.
“Gettysburg Super 8 hotel”
Staff were helpful at all times and it has a better breakfast service than other Super 8's I have stayed in. They do not have a lift to the 2nd floor and as I am getting older I find this is becoming a problem with luggage.
“Clean and comfortable, but the Perkins next door will com in handy.”
Hotel was clean and our stay was, overall, pleasant. Housekeeping was not all that great at replenishing items in the room (coffee cups, soap, etc.) the AC in the room worked well, but in the morning a large area of carpet around the unit was soaked with water. The beds were very comfortable if you don't like an ultra firm mattress. The breakfast, which someone else here raved about, was pretty lousy. Bagels and muffins were fresh, but the bacon was like rubber and the scrambled eggs were more like soup than they were scrambled eggs. Coffee was pretty lousy, too, but juices were fresh and cold. Staff was pleasant and courteous. The hotel was literally 5 minutes away from downtown Gettysburg, so I'm not sure why people would classify it as "out of the way".
“Will return again!!”
The hotel is a little older but do not let that stop you....it was very reasonable for what we paid. It was very clean. Has a nice indoor pool and hot tub which was well maintained. Poolside area was cleaned daily. Continental breakfast was ok but not very good hot breakfast...had eggs every day but not bacon and some mornings not even homefries. Staff was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. I would stay here again.
“Great Area”
We are very much Gettysburg Battlefield fans and go often, traveling all the way from Maine to go. We found this hotel perfect as it was just minutes from the battlefield and allowed us a very comfortable, clean place to hang out in the time we weren't on the battlefield. Totally awesome hot breakfast in the morning and free coffee in the lobby at all hours otherwise. Fridge, Microwave, and Coffee Maker in room came in very handy. Lots of tv channels to choose from to keep you company in the evening. There was a pool and hot tub, but the hot tub was under renovation and the pool was always full of kids so we did not try either of them. Staff was friendly, even despite the mix up at check in. Perkins restaurant next door was a great hit with us. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the battlefield and also have a reasonably priced place to stay and be comfortable and clean.
“Super8 Gettysburg”
Overall good hotel. Good location. Not in the best condition, but the room was clean.
