A little outside of town, however we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Nice rooms and scenery. Had a nice lake and staff was helpful.

Beautiful location

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Shower and comfortable bed
Cons: The staff and better descriptions of room and lodges. Directions to local restaurants.
Location: Guided bus tour in Gettysburg was enjoyable as well as the ghost tours.
Beautiful location but had some flies in the room. We also had an issue with the TV where the picture would go in and out. We reported the issue to the staff and maintenance responded quickly but never really fixed it so we could watch it then the picture would go out, got out of bed and before I could reach it the picture would come back on. No ATM service and no real information on where to eat. The description of the room was not what we got. The description sounded like a "lodge" to yourself but there are actually a Large suite and a smaller room, which was big enough for my needs but would have enjoyed it more with the suite and would have booked more appropriately. They also do not adhere to the book now pay later that was advertised, and charged immediately for first night. When questioned was told that policy states that with more than one night stay the first night is charged when booking. You also pay balance at check in instead of the traditional checkout. Otherwise clean room, beautiful and quiet location.

Great location if you don't want to deal traffic and noisy rude tourists. Easy drive to town and historic sites. Friendly accommodating staff. Lodge was great. Liked the size and efficiency kitchen. No stove, but did provide refrigerator, microwave, and coffee. Will definitely go back. Impossible to see all of the sites in just a few days.

Peaceful environment

Pros: Luxurious rooms
I would and will recommend the Lodges at Gettysburg to my family and friends who may be interested in visiting the area. Although it is situated in a very rural location, it is relatively close to all of the attractions, dining and shopping facilities.

Very disappointing for the money

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: The advertising
Cons: See above, the bedding, furnishings, provide chairs for the porch/balcony ,
Location: Located near Gettysburg and all the historic things it has to offer
For the amount of money we paid we could have stayed at a far nicer hotel. The cabins were very rough, chipped furniture, broken down sofa and overall sloppy construction did not lend itself to a "modern feel". There is not enough parking for each cabin so if you don't get a space you have to walk up a gravel drive and access to the cabin's front door was on a rough uneven path, hard to navigate with luggage. Staff when present was surly and the keurig coffee machine listed in the lobby was no longer there. So many things were not as advertised.

Great family retreat!

Posted Jun 11, 2015
Pros: Beautiful property, views were great
Cons: Breakfast should include some kind of protein
Location: Gettysburg National Military Park and the historic town of Gettysburg where President Lincoln gave his famous speech.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodges. The location is beautiful and only a ten minute drive to the battlefield. There is a small lake stocked with Bass on the property, available for guest use, catch and release fishing. Bring fishing rods! The cabin was roomy and we loved the decor. It was very quiet and peaceful. The only drawback is the breakfast. They offered a continental breakfast, no protein unfortunately. It would be great if they included eggs and bacon or sausage, etc. as the property is off by itself and about 15 minutes from town. Otherwise, wonderful!

Serenity and Romance

Posted May 29, 2015
My husband and I booked a last-minute wedding anniversary getaway to The Lodges at Gettysburg. When you think Gettysburg, "romantic getaway" maybe isn't the first thought that springs to mind; however, after a weekend at The Lodges, that's what I now I associate with the historic town. The grounds are immaculate and SO peaceful. Despite two weddings held over the weekend, all I could hear was the wind rustling at night. The cabin was stayed in was GORGEOUS. My massive husband looked like a small child in the King-sized bed (we have a King at home and I swear, the bed there was bigger!). The Lodge itself is close and convenient and stocked with beer and wine at a reasonable price if you're in the mood for a beverage; the continental breakfast the next morning saves you the trip to town for food. There's also a kitchenette if you want to bring your own snacks (no stove; but a fridge and Keurig). I STRONGLY recommend The Lodges at Gettysburg. I've been telling all my friends and family about the place and even recommended it to my cousin as a wedding venue. The staff is VERY friendly and provided us with great dining recommendations for downtown. We WILL back back...and soon!

Excellent!

Pros: Pleasantly surprised with these, all the comforts of home, friendly/helpful staff, porch looks out on field with wildlife..bunny visited.
Cons: The location was a bit off the beaten path; staff are not available until 7:00 a.m. No restaurant on premises.
Location: Gettysburg Battlefield
We stayed two nights at The Lodges to visit Gettysburg Battlefield. Reservation was made online so we had no idea what to expect. Beautiful individual buildings with wood floors, two queen-sized beds, nicely outfitted with "real" dishes and glassware, good-sized fridge, two TVs, HUGE bathroom. Very nice! Staff were very helpful and friendly.
