No A/C in hallways and elevators

Posted Jun 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
May be it is common in India, but the common areas of the hotel(elevator, hallways etc) were not air conditioned and the staff thought that was normal. we booked the hotel due to its star rating. Considering the peak summer climate of Delhi (upper 40 degree C) one should stay away from this hotel especially during summer.

Chilled out Room With a Kitchennete

Posted Jun 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
We checked into the hotel to escape the oppressive Delhi heat and found that the room was chilled out despite the frequent power outages . We asked for a non smoking room but were checked into a smoking room with twin beds ( we asked for a double bed ) . When we asked to change the room we were told that room freshener would refresh it but on insistence we were finally given another room ( also an upgrade to a bigger room ) The whole process took over two hours. There is free wi fi for 4 hours but despite 6 attempts the wi fi password did not work . However overall the provision of a micro in the room and cutlery was good cos we could reheat and use food . Amazingly the pool was not in operation at a time when we would all have loved to have a soak .

Good hotel, but a bit expensive for what you get.

Posted Feb 20, 2014
The room in itself and the washroom were clean, the bed was confortable, and there were a small refrigerator, microwave and some plates. There were however two defaults: one wall was covered with moulds (from humidity) and the sound insulation for the other rooms was very bad (I guess I was lucky to have calm neighbours). Staff is nice. Internet access is very unstable and you get only 2-3 hours free per day. The hotel is far from the city center, but very close to a metro station which makes access easy to all of Delhi. The neighbourhood itself is quite calm and peaceful (as much as it can get in Delhi, anyway...) and the nearby mall gives access to several good take out restaurants. Even if the price seems low by western standards, for that price in Delhi, you should get a very high quality hotel. This one was nice (except for the moulds, but that's only a one-room problem...), but expensive for what you get.
