Lots of potential!

We were in a back villa which is not right on the water, but only a 2 min walk. The back villas are older & could use some renovations-that's not to say they aren't nice. Spacious-great for families or 3 couples. The furniture could use some updating as our couch was an outdoor lounge sofa (inside) & the cushions not very thick. They have limited beach/pool towels. The dining table was nice. Kitchenware could use some updating. All this wouldn't matter much if there were other places to eat & hang out, but options are limited b/c it's is a new area being built up. If you're looking for a real "getaway" this place is perfect, but I recommend stopping by a grocery store on the way in to stock up on food/snacks as there is not much at the hotel yet. They do serve food, but options are limited. Komune's restaurant is 5 min walk down the beach & they have AMAZING burgers! The black sand is AWESOME! So sparkly-like diamonds. BDE is still under construction. The construction mgr said most villas will be done by Dec 2013. There's not much privacy in the villas. Other guests/workers could see into our villa bdrms/pool-so shut the curtains to have privacy. The hotel staff kept calling us asking if we wanted to order food...etc. The calls started by 8am. We prefer to sleep in on vacation, so it was annoying. We made a comment about it so hopefully that issue is moot. The bdrms have screen doors so you can fall asleep to the ocean! I would stay here again-but I'll wait until after Dec.
