The hotel advertised air conditioning. The front desk did change my room from the 4th floor which was really hot to a room with windows that opened on the 3rd floor. That led to mosquitoes coming in at night and receiving multiple bites. I got zero sleep the first night. The front desk gave me a plug in mosquito repellent for the room which did help. The air conditioning does not get turned on until June, so be aware. The building was hot and it was cool outside. 15 Celsius. . If you like climate control, wait until June or check directly with the hotel. The staff was helpful and courteous. The hotels A/C policy is the issue.

The Santa Rosa is a lovely hotel in the central pedestrian area of Gijon making it possible to walk to many places. The staff are charming and helpful. My room was modern and looked quite new. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and cheap. I highly recommend this hotel.

Ok if you just need a ppace to sleep in.
The hotel is ok. In the centre and very close to the marina. Rooms are on the small side. Breakfast was rather limited.

It is a nice small hotel with a clean room. The reception and restaurant personnel were efficient. The hotel is in the old part of the city so nice to walk around and with enough places to visit and eat. I asked for a wake up call and it came an hour later. Also, I stayed in 5 different hotels during my trip in Spain and none of them except this one charged me to use an international calling card. I bought the card to make cheaper phone calls to the US, I only had to use a local number first, like a toll free, then the international number. This hotel not only charged me for the local call but charged me per minute! They didn't have the phone rates posted in the room. I ended up paying over 44 Euros for 3 calls I made, that was very disappointed and upsetting.

Small hotel in a great location
We stayed for one night and the room met our needs. The hotel is well situated, close to all the main attractions, restaurants and shops in Gijon. It's an easy walk to the Marina, the old town and the San Lorenzo beach. The room was small, quiet and but we found the mattress to be quite firm so did not sleep well. The breakfast was fine and the breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly. Hotel parking is accessed on a very narrow street, so we opted for public parking a few blocks away. A good place to stay to visit Gijon.

Super Santa Rosa
Great centrally located boutique hotel within walking distance of main shopping area. Spotlessly clean. Would recommend to anyone visiting this lovely city.
