Rooms need an upgradePosted Jun 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great hotel, with massive atrium with big swimming pool in the middle. Very nice breakfast and very friendly welcome. However, they need to upgrade the decor in the rooms which was very worn, clean but well worn. Car park looks like a building site when you enter it but closer to hotel it's fine. Fairly good location to drive to restaurants and close to interstate. Enjoyed my stay.

the room was too warmPosted May 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was good, the place was clean, if a bit dated. The room cooling system didn't cool the room and we did not sleep well at all- sweated most of the night. I turned the thermostat all the way down to 40 with it set on cooling and the room was still at 76 the whole time. We will not stay again. We have family and grandchildren in Gillette adn will be making frequent overnight visits but will try one of the other hotels the next time. We already were happy with the Fairfield on both other visits but the Clarion price was better so we tried it. We will NOT do that again

DisappointedPosted May 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here to swim and enjoy a weekend in town while our home in the country was being painted. The website nor the agent on the phone said a thing about the massive construction, nor the smells and noise that went along with it. Thus the pool and spa were unavailable. We were not able to receive a discount or free meal, as we are local this would have been satisfactory. The front desk girls were not professional in dress, or mannerisms. I know we will not book our visiting friends and relatives here from now on.

Nice facilities - Very good value - slightly datedPosted Apr 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
Room was clean, bed comfortable - Heating controls didn't work but temp was OK. Nice to have pool, hot-tub, small gym and steam room! Very convenient location with easy walk to multiple choices of restaurants. Very nice included breakfast with hot and cold choices (bacon and eggs are not the usually included in most chains' "continental breakfasts". Overall, would surely stay there again.

Good value for the pricePosted Apr 9, 2013
Pros: Pool, comfortable beds and staff!
Cons: Dated decor, etc.
Location: Excellent location, near restaurants, stores, etc.
Dropped family off at airport and stayed in Gillette for the evening. Stayed here for a couple of reasons, price (very reasonable), pool for my son (this was a wonderful pool and pool area) and the fact that they had a complimentary breakfast (good). My only comment in staying here that would be more of an aesthetic-thing than anything, the hotel was definitely dated and could stand some renovation but this did not affect our stay adversely and to the contrary, the above mentioned items were great, made this a good stay and I would definitely come back to the Clarion. Other items of note (in addition to those already mentioned), it was in a good location, close to anything a traveler might need, the beds were extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good stay at a great price! Also, try "Old Chicago" right down the street for great beer, food (especially their pizza), service and atmosphere, it's a short walk from the Clarion.

Internet didn't workPosted Mar 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had to sit next to the door to get the internet to work. The bed was noisy and uncomfortable. Not a satisfied customer!

Pass On This OnePosted Feb 24, 2013
Location: Near restaurants and shopping. Just four blocks off of the interstate.
The hotel needs some major upgrades. They were doing upgrades to the pool, however, this was not mentioned anywhere when I booked my stay. The breakfast was adequate, but it could have been better. No effort was made to the eating area. We could have eaten in the dark restaurant for breakfast, but preferred the lighter atrium area. There always seemed to be just one front desk manager and she was overwhelmed at times with people and problems. The bathtub still had hair in the tub. I always check the bathrooms in hotels where I stay, because I feel that the bathrooms should be extra clean. This one did not pass my inspection. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not stay there again.
