“good value for the price”

This hotel met our needs for a one night stay. Generally dislike the open courtyard/game area concept due to noise level but I was pleasantly surprised.

“Good value for the price”

Dropped family off at airport and stayed in Gillette for the evening. Stayed here for a couple of reasons, price (very reasonable), pool for my son (this was a wonderful pool and pool area) and the fact that they had a complimentary breakfast (good). My only comment in staying here that would be more of an aesthetic-thing than anything, the hotel was definitely dated and could stand some renovation but this did not affect our stay adversely and to the contrary, the above mentioned items were great, made this a good stay and I would definitely come back to the Clarion. Other items of note (in addition to those already mentioned), it was in a good location, close to anything a traveler might need, the beds were extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good stay at a great price! Also, try "Old Chicago" right down the street for great beer, food (especially their pizza), service and atmosphere, it's a short walk from the Clarion.

“OK”

My room was clean, but it must of been a smoking room at one tine because you could smell it in the air. The hotel is a older one and needs updating. The staff was very pleasent and helpful. Definitely not a 3 star property.

“Not impressed”

The Clarion in Gillette was not very clean. I would say there needs to be some serious remodeling. The first room we were directed to was not cleaned. On the second night of our stay there were some young adults that were having a very loud party that involved several rooms. We did not get to sleep until 6:00 a.m. When we called the front desk we were told only that they were trying to get them back in their rooms. This was very disturbing to us.

“Not impressed”

Listed as a convention center so I thought it would be a bet. Rooms are old and not maintained. Grounds were dirty. Perhaps room rate with exedia drove the second class rooms. Would not recommend!

“Very Disappointing - won't repeat stay at Clarion”

Upon arrival we found that indoor pool was being renovated. The pool is in the middle of the main floor with rooms surrounding it so there was a lot of construction noise during the day. We could not get room temperature below 72 and it was suffocating at night. We talked to front desk about the fact that we could get room cooled down and they didn't do anything about it. We should have changed hotels.

“Look elsewhere”

Multiple leaks from cieling in common area of the hotel. Breakfast not appealing. Electronic cigaretts left by previous patron in room.

“Pass On This One”

The hotel needs some major upgrades. They were doing upgrades to the pool, however, this was not mentioned anywhere when I booked my stay. The breakfast was adequate, but it could have been better. No effort was made to the eating area. We could have eaten in the dark restaurant for breakfast, but preferred the lighter atrium area. There always seemed to be just one front desk manager and she was overwhelmed at times with people and problems. The bathtub still had hair in the tub. I always check the bathrooms in hotels where I stay, because I feel that the bathrooms should be extra clean. This one did not pass my inspection. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not stay there again.
