“What you expect for your money.”
This is a one star motel, no doubt. The furnishings of the room were nice, but of cheap material. It was clearly maintained to the best of someone's ability, wall paper was patched, new caulk in evidence, etc. However, the room included all of the amenities you would expect of a more expensive motel. There was the usual coffee maker and complimentary coffee packets, soap, shampoo, lotion. The was also an iron and board, small microwave and a counter-height refrigerator, a good sized televison, a telephone, and an air conditioner/heater unit that worked well. The staff is friendly, and my room was tended every day, even when I didn't leave it until after 1pm. I had a smoking room (I forgot to specify non smoking when I booked), you could definitely tell it was a smoking room, but it did not reek of stale smoke - whatever the staff uses to combat the smell works very well, if not perfectly. All in all, better than I had been expecting, and I would certainly stay there again. One important note: Gilroy is the garlic capital of the US and you cannot fail to notice this - the smell is everywhere, so don't blame the hotel for the smell outside. Also, if you have an end room you may need to let the hot water run for a minute or more until it gets hot. I never ran out of hot water and it was always quite hot.
“Not at All what i expected.”
Check in time was at 3:00pm. I arrived at that time to get ready for a meeting i had later on that day. but hear this, the room i was given wasn't clean yet so i had no other choice but to get ready in a messy room where the bed wasn't even made yet & there was garbage everywhere. I left to my meeting took my luggage with me in my car & left some hair tools & some hairspray bottles & food their at the room. When i got back to the hotel that night the room was cleaned out as well as all my personal stuff which i didn't get back till the next day. That room that i payed for didn't get cleaned till 6pm, 3 hours later after i had checked in to it. This is just un-acceptable. Hope it can be fixed so that future guest don't experience this vary bad service.
“Stay outside of town for the Garlic Festival”
I booked this room at the last minute (I know, I know) for a quickly-planned trip to the garlic festival. I paid an exorbitant amount for my poor planning, well in excess of what I paid to stay at the (beautiful) Sheraton in downtown Sac for the balance of the weekend, and I'm certain that the rate was the result of it being the biggest weekend of the year. At the same time, I would have appreciated any feeling whatsoever that I was getting some return on what I had paid: not so. This was a standard, cheap, low-grade motel room, in a neighborhood that did not make me entirely comfortable. The shower head was stuck on the "blast" position; the towels were horrible; the bed was workable at best (it helped that I rolled in at 1 am and left a few hours later). If this hotel is more reasonably priced, I suspect you might get what you pay for. For a big weekend such as this, either book very early or stay elsewhere. If I were doing this again, I'd stay just outside of town.
“it was ok”
close to several attractions
“Nice place to stay for the price.”
This was a nice place to stay when your in Gilroy. Outlet stores right across the freeway. Great Asian Pacific restaurant called The Ginger Cafe at the outlets. Close to San Juan Baptista. 45 minutes from Santa Cruz. The hotel room had a comfortable bed, refrigerater, microwave, iron, pool, spa. the front desk gentlemen was a nice guy.
“put us with the druggies”
this hotel sucked
“Would never go back....spend the extra money”
I thought I would get the cheapest motel since we were just going 40 mins away from home for a mother-daughter trip to the outlet centers, but I completely regret it. The front desk person seemed to live there - family owned I suppose. She said that we had a smoking room and I told her that it was a mistake. So she repeats that it says smoking. Ok, there's nobody else in the entire place, so does it really matter? So I say, we need a non-smoking room. She just types and gives us the key. We go to our room and indeed it was non-smoking, but smelled horrible. We think that maybe it used to be a smoking room, but I'm just not sure. We ended up spraying Fabreze that we had with it, but it was a lost cause. We tried having the window open for a while, but they decided to give us the room closest to the Burger King drive-through order speaker, so that was a lost cause. I should have just left and would if I had to do it over again. This place needs a complete make-over and double-paned windows for the location. I say spend the extra and stay at the one of the other places.
